On Wednesday (Aug. 17), the K-pop girl group announced a special “Light Up the Pink” campaign ahead of the release of its highly anticipated comeback single “Pink Venom.” The news was shared via Twitter with a poster of dates, locations and times for Seoul, Tokyo, Shanghai, Bangkok, New York and Los Angeles between Thursday and Friday for their Blinks to witness something special. Only three more days until BLACKPINK releases their highly anticipated comeback single, “Pink Venom,” and the girl group has released the first official trailer for the track’s forthcoming music music video on Tuesday (Aug. 16). The trailer starts off with brown dust blowing in the wind, then cuts to an ornate blade being sharpened by a moving whetstone. Scenes of a pair of hands strumming a string instrument then flashes to an eerie cut of several black-hooded figures sitting motionless on the ground. The yet-untitled studio set will be the K-pop act’s fourth album following Sticker: The Third Album, which was released in September and notched the group their third No. 1 on the Top Album Sales chart before it was repackaged the following month as Favorite. This fall, BLAKCKPINK are set to kick off their new musical era by embarking on an expansive world tour. BLACKPINK will be in your area very soon! Today (Aug. 8), The K-pop superstars announced the dates for their Born Pink world tour on Monday (Aug. 8). Spanning from Oct. 15, 2022, to June 21, 2023, the trek is set to make stops in North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. As of press time, the official Born Pink world tour website reads “and more” at the end of the list of dates, indicating that additional dates may be on the way. The Born Pink world tour marks the girl group’s third concert tour following the BLACKPINK arena tour (2018) and the In Your Area world tour (2018-2020).
