After 17 years of declining numbers, CD sales reached a nearly two-decade high in 2021, and the biggest reason was Adele. The superstar’s long-awaited fourth album, 30, was far and away the top-selling album of the year in every format, a feat she managed to achieve within just 72 hours of the smash LP’s release. In CD sales alone, it moved a total of 898,000 units — a massive amount for a release in the post-streaming age of music consumption. Three members of the K-pop group BTS have been infected with the coronavirus after returning from abroad, their management agency said. RM and Jin were diagnosed with COVID-19 on Saturday evening (Dec. 25), the Big Hit Music agency said in a statement. It earlier said another member, Suga, tested positive for the virus on Friday. Following yesterday’s news of Suga’s diagnosis, the group’s management company, Big Hit Music, has now revealed that RM and Jin have also received positive test results. Suga of BTS has tested positive for COVID-19. According to a statement from the group’s management company, Big Hit Music, the 28-year-old musician had tested negative prior to leaving the US for South Korea following the group’s recent run of concerts at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium. However, while self-quarantining upon his return to South Korea, Suga received a positive result after taking a PCR test. Big Hit Music said Suga received his second COVID-19 vaccination in August, and is currently experiencing no symptoms.
