In the new Netflix short documentary John Was Trying to Contact Aliens, Shepherd shows filmmakers the array of inventions he used in order to beam sound into outer space.  Avant-garde style music was the medium by which Shepherd sought to communicate with alien life. Hollywood Bowl Livestream Series to Kick Off with Kraftwerk Rebroadcast This Weekend

The Hollywood Bowl’s in-person festivities have been cancelled this year due to the pandemic, but KRCW and the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association will still be celebrating with weekly rebroadcasts of past iconic performances. This marks the first virtual season of Hollywood Bowl performances from KRCW, which has curated lineups at the historic venue for two decades. Electronic Music Exhibit Featuring Kraftwerk Set to Open with Enhanced Speaker System

The Design Museum in London is making new investments into its sound system to support the museum’s electronic music exhibit, which is set to open at the end of this month. The exhibit, titled “Electronic: From Kraftwerk to The Chemical Brothers,” was originally scheduled to launch in April, but was postponed due to mandatory closures following the onset of COVID-19. Ahead of its reopening, the museum will be installing a PMC 7.1 surround system based on the company’s result6 monitors, which is sure to simulate the experience of a live electronic music show. Tidal and Amazon Music to Release “First Time on Digital” Kraftwerk Projects in Dolby Atmos

If you’re a diehard Kraftwerk fan and you don’t subscribe to either Tidal or Amazon Music, now is the time because a handful of the legendary group’s releases are set to be released for the first time. Starting on July 3rd, the music platforms will be rolling out Dolby Atmos Music versions of previous Kraftwerk projects. Electronic music pioneer passes on

Florian Schneider, the co-founder of pioneering German electronic band ”Kraftwerk”, has died of cancer. His death was confirmed by his friend, co-founder of Kraftwerk Ralf Huetter who said he died from a short cancer disease just a few days after his 73rd birthday. Schneider and Huetter founded Kraftwerk in 1970 after meeting at a music academy in Duesseldorf, Germany. They are widely recognised as among the first to popularise electronic music with commercial success. With mesmerising tracks like ”Autobahn”, their work has influenced generations of pop and dance musicians. Florian Schneider, the co-founder of German electronic music pioneers Kraftwerk, has died, SPIN has confirmed. He was 73. “Kraftwerk co-founder and electro pioneer Ralf Alf Hütter has sent us the very sad news that his friend and companion over many decades Florian Schneider has passed away from a short cancer disease just a few days after his 73rd birthday,” a band rep said in a statement. In 1970, Schneider formed Kraftwerk with Ralf Hütter after first meeting at the Academy of Arts in Remscheid, then at the Robert Schumann Hochschule in Düsseldorf.
