David Lee Roth’s apparent retirement party will have to wait, as the former Van Halen singer has canceled his entire Las Vegas residency. The Rock & Roll Hall of Famer had previously declared the planned gigs at the House of Blues Las Vegas at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino would be his last shows ever. The residency was initially slated to be comprised of five shows, and then expanded to nine when four more dates were added. Heading into the holiday weekend, the first two shows (December 31st and January 1st) were initially postponed “due to unforeseen circumstances related to COVID and out of an abundance of caution for those working and attending the shows.” Then on Monday (January 3rd), the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported that all nine shows were canceled. While COVID safety wa...
Is a stack of toilet paper the new Left Shark? On Wednesday night (December 29th), Katy Perry debuted her new Las Vegas residency, PLAY, with some help from some over-the-top set pieces. Among the props for the show, the pop star performed alongside a massive mask, a giant toilet and a mountain of toilet paper, in apparent nods to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. “As with everything I do, PLAY is massively colorful for the kids, with a deep wink for the adults,” Perry said in a statement ahead of opening night. “The show is a funny, playful trip, and was designed specifically for this theatre in Vegas. Honestly, I couldn’t ever travel this show from arena to arena. These sets are larger than life – literally – and the perfect excuse to wake up in Vegas.” Advertisement Related Video <im...

The five-night stand will kick off with a New Year’s Eve show and include four gigs in early January. The Van Halen singer originally kicked off a residency at the same venue in January 2020. He had more dates planned for that year, but the pandemic forced him to cancel the remaining Vegas shows. Now, he’ll return roughly two years later, playing December 31st, as well as January 1st, 5th, 7th, and 8th. A look at the 19-song setlist from his last 2020 date at the House of Blues Las Vegas shows the singer performing 11 Van Halen classics (including the band’s cover of The Kinks’ “You Really Got Me”), as well as solo tunes like his own hit covers of “California...
