Calling the process “innovative,” Grace explained that the project originally began at the end of 2019 but was put on pause because of the Coronavirus pandemic. “I went into the studio pre-Covid with Boi-1da. We immediately hit it off. I had written the first verse and the pre onto a loop he had sent me,” she notes. “Everything else was basically done remotely. Meek Mill jumped on the track later on after listening to the structure we built.” The Estefans were also part of the process “every step of the way.” Grace adds: “Everyone was really focused on maintaining the essence of this iconic track. Having their support and suggestions was beautiful. They approved every single thing on the project. This was really a labor of love and really intentional every step of the way with the original...

Selena Gomez continues to gift fans with new “De Una Vez” content and this time, she dropped an official lyric video. The song’s lyrics, written in a glowing light pink cursive font, are displayed on top of scenes from the music video, such as the bed with silk covers and the beaming pink heart that she carries on her chest throughout the official clip. The lyrics can also be read in English at the bottom of the video. In the rhythmic pop tune with hints of urban music, which was produced by Tainy, Albert Hype, Jota Rosa, and Neon16, Gomez opens up about healing from a previous relationship and discovering her self-worth. “Ya no duele como antes, no / La herida de tu amor sanó,” she kicks off the track. Although Olvera has never endorsed U.S. political candidates, he and his band, Maná, have been longstanding advocates of voters’ rights, immigrant rights and human rights. Also joining the “We Are Home” campaign is Alejandro Fernández, who has been a vocal supporter of Biden and sang from Mexico at one of the inauguration events. “There are more than 11 million stories like these,” says Fernandez in his video, which shows multiple immigrant faced (the 11 million alludes to the estimated number of undocumented immigrants living in the United States). “Because of you, your fight, I join this campaign. We demand citizenship, dignity and a halt to deportations.” Olvera and Fernández’s call to action are the first acts of what organizers are calling a “multimillion-dollar campaign” that w...
After hinting that a collaboration was in the works in spring 2019, Eilish and Rosalía dropped the dreamlike track in which the two music stars showcase their vocal chemistry by trading off slow-tempo verses filled with hazy melodies and melancholic lyrics. “I remember when we were writing the song, I remember her saying something about, ‘It should be in English.’ And I was like, ‘No, no, no. It should be in Spanish. It’s so beautiful.’ And I’ve always loved music that isn’t in English,” Eilish recently told Apple Music’s Zane Lowe. The music video for “Lo Vas a Olvidar,” filmed by award-winning director Nabil, shows Eilish and Rosalía’s powerful performances in a somber setting. Placing second on the past w...
