Report: Leeds and Newcastle among clubs chasing highly rated defender

Leeds United and West Ham United are thought to be keen on signing Milton Keynes Dons’ starlet Matthew Sorinola. The talented young full-back has made quite an impression this season and he could prove to be a quality long term investment for the two Premier League clubs. According to Team Talk, the likes of Newcastle United are interested in the young defender as well and it will be interesting to see if they can lure him away from Milton Keynes in the coming months. Matthew Sorinola has a big future ahead of him and needs to join a club where he can play regular first-team football and continue his development. The youngster is highly talented but he is not ready for Premier League football just yet and therefore his suitors should look to sign him and then loan him back to Milton Keynes...

‘Shadow of his normal self’: Some Leeds fans destroy ‘awful’ player v West Ham

Leeds United suffered back-to-back defeats after being beaten 2-1 by West Ham at Elland Road on Friday night. The Whites took an early lead through Mateusz Klich who scored from the spot after Patrick Bamford was brought down by Lukas Fabianski. It needed help from VAR, although David Moyes said after the match that the officials are making “terrible decisions”. The first effort from Klich was tame and it was easily saved by Fabianski. However, VAR suggested that Fabianski was off the line when the kick was taken, allowing Klich to re-take the penalty. Klich didn’t make any mistake in the second attempt. They can notice Fabianski is an inch off his line but can’t see Bamford is a couple of yards inside the penalty area before Klich re-takes the penalty 🤨 I̵...

‘Really disappointing’, ‘I just don’t agree’: Some Leeds fans react to what Bielsa said after defeat

Leeds United suffered a 2-1 defeat against West Ham in the Premier League clash at Elland Road on Friday night.  It was a lacklustre performance from the home side, and the Hammers deserve the credit for securing all three points after coming from behind. The victory has taken them to fifth in the league table. Bielsa took off Jack Harrison and Ezgjan Alioski on the break. It looked like a smart decision, although Helder Costa hardly had any impact after coming on. In the 74th minute, Bielsa took off Patrick Bamford, and he was replaced by Tyler Roberts. It left many Leeds fans puzzled as to why Bielsa didn’t use Pablo Hernandez when the Spaniard was available on the bench. After the match, the Argentine explained that he wanted Roberts to play up front. Roberts failed to make an...

2020 has been a strange year for everyone, and football is no exception. The COVID-19 pandemic, the three-month break, the null and void debacle, the eventual return of football, Liverpool finally getting their hands on the Premier League trophy, the non-stop debate over when it’s safe for fans to return. The pandemic has had a financial impact on every club, but that hasn’t stopped anyone from getting their wallets out. Here’s a look at every Premier League club’s best signing of 2020 (looking at both January 2020 and the extended summer transfer window). Arsenal – Thomas Partey (£45m) Partey was a statement of intent from the Gunners Brazilian teammate Gabriel Magalhaes could have easily gone here, but the statement of intent behind Thomas Partey’s signing is why he claims this spot. Both teams are separated by three points in the Premier League table at this stage of the season, and the fixture promises to be a cracker. This is the team we expect the Argentine to select against West Ham: Goalkeeper: Bielsa refused to take any major credit for the rapid progress of Illan Meslier who h...

Report: Man Utd ‘huge admirers’ of 23 y/o defender…could face competition from two PL clubs

One of the many things that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needs to fix at Manchester United is the fragile defence, and it seems they are already working on that with the next transfer window less than a month away. According to reports from Manchester Evening News, United have earmarked Ben White as one of their centre-back options for their next two transfer windows. The Red Devils are reportedly huge admirers of White. But they have other targets in mind, such as RB Leipzig’s Dayot Upamecano and Real Madrid’s Raphael Varane. However, United are likely to face strong competition with Leeds and Liverpool keen to secure his signature as well. Outstanding player  The 23-year-old is playing his first season in the Premier League for Brighton after impressing for Leeds on loan last seas...

‘What I do observe’: Bielsa says he doesn’t have a big influence over one Leeds player

Marcelo Bielsa is not just a great manager, but a fascinating person as well. I’m not a Leeds fan, but one cannot help but admire some of his qualities. The Argentine can be eccentric at times, his methods are often out-of-the-box, but there’s no denying the fact that he is very humble. Leeds will face West Ham in their next Premier League game at Elland Road where the Whites will be looking to return to winning ways. Ahead of the match, Bielsa touched on several topics. The Argentine was asked to comment on Illan Meslier, the Leeds goalkeeper, who has had a mixed campaign thus far. This is what he said, as quoted by Leeds Live: “Evidently, they say one of the virtues of a good goalkeeper is to have a bad memory. To be able to forget the moments of adversity and continue playing. “I don’t ...

Bielsa suggests two Leeds players are ‘very similar’… but only one has ‘advantage’

Leeds United will be looking to get back to winning ways when they take on West Ham United on Friday in the Premier League at Elland Road. The Whites are facing a crisis at the back, with Leeds set to be without their two summer signings – Robin Koch and Diego Llorente. Ahead of the match, Bielsa has given his view on the two defenders he signed this summer. While Llorente has played just one game so far, the Argentine has elaborated on the qualities the two players can bring to the side. The Leeds boss feels that both the players are ‘very similar’ in their approach, with Koch holding a slight advantage over Llorente as he has played more games than him at the Yorkshire club. “They are both good in the aerial game – they are both players of a similar physical stature and despite how ...

Report: Leeds suffer fresh injury blow as 27 y/o out for two weeks

Leeds United have suffered a major blow with defender Diego Llorente picking up an injury once again. The Spaniard – who joined in the summer transfer window from Real Sociedad – has picked up a muscle injury and is set to be out on the sidelines for at least two weeks. The 27-year-old returned from a long injury lay-off last week against Chelsea. He played for 81 minutes, after coming in for Robin Koch who got injured. Leeds confirmed on Tuesday that Koch will undergo knee surgery, and the German international is expected to remain out for three months. Bielsa in good form and upbeat today – but he thinks Robin Koch could be out for three months and Diego Llorente is also out for at least two weeks with a muscle problem. #lufc — Phil Hay (@PhilHay_) December 9, 2020 The Whites lost 3-1 ag...

Report: Leeds United keeping tabs on 22-yr-old who has been linked with West Ham

Leeds United have been linked with a move for the former Tottenham winger Marcus Edwards. The 22-year-old has been quite impressive for Portuguese outfit Vitoria Guimaraes and he has been linked with a return to the Premier League in the recent months. According to Football Insider, Leeds United are keeping tabs on the young attacker and they could have signed him during the summer transfer window. However, the Premier League side went on to sign Raphinha for £17 million instead. It will be interesting to see if Leeds United reignite their interest in the player at the end of this season. Marcelo Bielsa already has three impressive wingers (Jack Harrison, Raphinha and Helder Costa) at his disposal and it would be surprising to see him splash out on another wide player anytime soon. There i...

Chelsea vs Leeds United Match Preview, Team News and Predicted Line-ups

Chelsea host Leeds United on Saturday and will look to secure their sixth Premier League victory of 2020-21 and maintain their unbeaten run across all competitions. Frank Lampard’s side haven’t lost since the 2-0 defeat at the hands of Liverpool on matchday two, but they face a tough opponent in Marcelo Bielsa’s side and a victory will be seen as another statement of intent as they look to establish themselves as title contenders. Leeds are seeking for their fifth league win since securing top-flight promotion, and given how impressive they have been in some of their games, not many will bet against them as far as leaving Stamford Bridge with a result goes. The Yorkshire outfit held Arsenal to a goalless draw before securing a 1-0 win over Everton at Goodison Park last time out, and they w...
