With each new project, Moore Kismet takes another leap towards the upper echelon of electronic music. And with an album looming, their ascension seems to be at a boiling point. Kismet, who was named to EDM.com‘s Class of 2021, has now teamed up with Apple Music to release a scintillating DJ mix for Pride Month 2021. Spanning 40 tracks, the mix is a microcosm of their groundbreaking approach to electronic music production, which is acclaimed for its hypnotic yet ferocious sound design. A song-cycle of dazzling bass music, Kismet’s Pride 2021 mix is representative of a seasoned selector and sonic storyteller—a dumbfounding notion considering they are only 16 years of age. It’s another indicator of their penchant for aching melodies and vulnerable songwriting, two ...

Now, he’s being denied that opportunity. The state’s House of Representatives blocked the measure on Tuesday after a procedural objection by longtime anti-LGBTQ Rep. Jeremy Faison, the chair of the House Republican Caucus. The tabled legislation, Senate Joint Resolution (SJR) 609, would act as a congratulations of sorts that signified the state supporting his status. “Though TJ Osborne is not the ...
Demi Lovato has come out as pansexual. In a new interview with Joe Rogan, the 28-year-old popstar opened up about coming to terms with her sexuality and how she currently defines it. Lovato has been transparent about her romantic interests for a few years now, dating back to a 2017 segment of her Simply Complicated documentary in which she admitted that she was interested in both men and women. “I am open to human connection,” she said at the time. “So whether that’s through a male or a female, it doesn’t matter to me,” In 2020, she detailed what it was like to come out to her parents a few years back, and then she continued to speak about her sexuality in her Glamour cover story from earlier this month, saying that she’s “really queer”. “I know who I am and what I am, but I’m ju...
Mississippi became the first US state on Thursday to ban transgender athletes from competing on girls or women’s sports teams, a move denounced as discriminatory by LGBTQ groups and likely to face legal challenges. Governor Tate Reeves said the “Mississippi Fairness Act” would “ensure young girls are not forced to compete against biological males.” The bill requires public schools in the conservative southern state to designate sports teams based on biological sex as for “Males,” “Females” or “Coed.” “Athletic teams or sports designated for ‘females,’ ‘women,’ or ‘girls,’ shall not be open to students of the male sex,” it states. Human Rights Campaign (HRC), a group which defends LGBTQ rights, described the bill as “discriminatory anti-transgender legislation” and said it would be challeng...

Listen via Apple Podcasts | Spotify | Google Play | Radio Public | Stitcher | RSS Happy Halloween, trick or treaters, dreamers, and campers. Believe it or not, but the Halloweenies have one more spooky surprise for you. A couple of weeks ago, I was able to get on the horn with the one and only Tom Holland. 2020 is the 35th anniversary of Holland’s directorial debut — one of our favorite Halloween rewatches — 1985’s Fright Night. So, in celebration, we spoke with the Master of Horror about his vampiric classic during a pleasant October afternoon. Together, we sank our teeth into the film’s rich pre-production history, the queer subtext that has since led to countless reevaluations (including by our pals the Horror Queers), ...
Schitt’s Creek is currently airing on Comedy Central as part of a new syndication deal inked shortly before the beloved series made history at the 2020 Emmys. However, the TV network isn’t exactly broadcasting all of the episodes as intended — at least not around the world. According to Schitt’s Creek co-creator and star Dan Levy, Comedy Central in India has censored out a kiss between his character David Rose and Ted Mullens (Dustin Milligan). In a tweet on Tuesday, Levy called out the TV network and attached video proof of the doctored footage. The clip, meant to be a promo, focuses on the spin-the-bottle scene of the Season 5 episode “Housewarming”. While kisses between two women and between a man and a woman are shown, the one between two men — David and Ted — is edited out completely....
