Lil Baby Announces 2021 Tour with Lil Durk
Lil Baby has detailed a 2021 tour, “The Back Outside Tour”, with Lil Durk as his special guest. The star rappers’ joint album, The Voice of the Heroes, debuted at No. 1 earlier this month. The fall trek kicks off on September 1st at the Xfinity Cente in Mansfield, Massachusetts, and includes stops in New Orleans, Los Angeles, and Brooklyn. It wraps up at iThink Financial Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach, Florida on October 15th. Pre-sales have begun at Ticketmaster, with tickets opening to the general public on Friday, June 25th at 10:00 a.m. local time. Just Like Heaven Festival Returning in 2022 with Interpol, Modest Mouse, M.I.A., The Shins
Just Like Heaven is returning in 2022 with another lineup built out of a mid-2000s playlist fever dream. Produced by Goldenvoice, the same folks behind Coachella, the second Just Like Heaven festival is set to take place May 21st, 2022 at Brookside at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. The inaugural festival went down in 2019 with a lineup seemingly designed for Millennial indie heads, and the 2022 bill is no different. Interpol, Modest Mouse, The Shins, and M.I.A. top the bill, which is fleshed out by the likes of Bloc Party (with Kele Okereke also putting on a DJ set), Franz Ferdinand, Chromeo, Santigold, Cut Copy, Peaches, and Wolf Parade performing their classic Apologies to the Queen Mary. Courtney Barnett Announces North American 2021-2022 Tour Dates
Courtney Barnett is hitting the road this winter for a North American tour. The late-2021-to-early-2022 trek will feature opening acts Bartees Strange, Julia Jacklin, and Shamir. The 23-date jaunt kicks off on November 29th at Brooklyn Bowl in Las Vegas, Nevada. Barnett and her tourmates will make stops in US cities like Los Angeles, Nashville, and New York City, while also touching down in Vancouver, Montreal, and Toronto. The trek closes out at the latter city’s Massey Hall on February 12th. Barnett has partnered with mental health access fund PLUS1 to support Indigenous-led organizations with a portion of proceeds from the tour. Pop punk trio Meet Me @ the Altar have announced their major label debut EP, Model Citizen, due out on August 13th via Fueled By Ramen. As a preview, they shared a new single titled “Feel a Thing” and its accompanying music video. Meet Me @ the Altar is made up of three women of color: Edith Johnson (vocals], Téa Campbell (guitar), and Ada Juarez (drums). Chubby and the Gang have announced their new album, The Mutt’s Nuts, due out on August 27th via Partisan Records. The London punk five-piece also shared the LP’s lead single, “Coming Up Tough”. Produced by Jonah Falco of Fucked Up, The Mutt’s Nuts features lyrics rooted in UK political issues that include worker’s rights, inequality, police brutality, government failure, and gentrification. The album’s sound mixes influences from artists like Hank Williams and The Bobby Fuller Four with Brooklyn-based ’50s girl groups and British blue-eyed soul. Lollapalooza is Giving Out Free Passes to Vaccinated Residents
Chicago’s health department announced on Friday that they’ll be giving away 1,200 single-day Lollapalooza passes to vaccinated residents. Anyone who makes a vaccination appointment for June 26th at select sites will be given a complimentary pass, according to the city. Each of the four select vaccination sites will be distributing tickets for a different date of the festival: Wilbur Wright College will offer passes for July 29th, Richard J. Daley College will offer passes for July 30th. Kennedy King College will offer passes for July 31st, and Malcolm X College will offer passes for August 1st.
