<span class="localtime" data-ltformat="F j, Y | g:ia" data-lttime="2021-04-15T19:30:22+00:00“>April 15, 2021 | 3:30pm ET Organizers of the infamous Fyre Festival and 277 attendees have reached a $2 million settlement, nearly four years after a $100 million class action lawsuit was first filed, according to Billboard. Each plaintiff will receive $7,220. As Billboard notes, however, that figure could be lower depending on the outcome of Fyre Fest’s bankruptcy case with various creditors. Although the lawyers representing the ticket holders and trustee in charge of Fyre’s assets have reached the settlement, it still needs a vote of approval taking place on May 13th. Celebrity lawyer Mark Geragos filed the lawsuit in May 2017.  “The festival’s lac...

Each will feature a lineup of notable punk bands. Originally, the two-day California edition, Punk in the Park – Orange County, was set to be the inaugural version of the new fest, but pandemic restrictions led organizers to move the original 2020 dates to April 2021 and then again to November 6th and 7th at Oak Canyon Park. That makes the one-day Punk in the Park – Arizona event, taking place May 29th at Big Surf Water Park in Tempe — the first stagin...

Rob Zombie, Korn, Staind, and More Announced for July 2021 US Rock Festivals

Organizers of two major US rock festivals are counting on a relative return to normal this summer, officially announcing the lineups for Wisconsin’s Rock Fest and Michigan’s Upheaval Festival today (March 31st). Rob Zombie, Korn, Staind, and Chevelle are among the bands set to play both fests, while the bigger Rock Fest will also feature Limp Bizkit, Snoop Dogg, Danzig, and more — provided that the events are able to go off as scheduled. Rock Fest in Cadott, Wisconsin is a long-running annual event, while Upheaval in Grand Rapids, Michigan was supposed to stage its inaugural festival last year. Both were called off in 2020 due to the pandemic, so the 2021 lineups are fairly similar to the ones that were set for last year. The big difference is that Disturbed has dropped off both events and...

Beyond Save Our Stages: NIVA Director Details Next Steps for Venue Owners

“One of the components of Save Our Stages Act is that should this continue longer than any of us want it to continue — which it already has — but should there be a need for additional funds, it’s part of the language of this program,” said Rev. Moose on the panel, adding that the act takes into account that more funding could be necessary depending on the duration of the pandemic. Rev. Moose continued that while he is not a “political soothsayer,” he does believe the bipartisan appeal of the SOS Act could mean an easier and more efficient path to additional funding if venues are forced to keep their doors shuttered for longer than expected. “I don’t know what the future is going to bring, but I would hope that if there is a need for additional COVID funding, that the government...
