‘I don’t think’: Agbonlahor makes bold claim about £75k-per-week Liverpool star

Popular football pundit Gabby Agbonlahor has suggested that Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold will not be in the England squad for the European Championships.  The Liverpool right-back was dropped from the England squad for the recent World Cup qualifiers, with Gareth Southgate not entirely convinced with his form. The 22-year-old, who is on £75k-per-week wages at the club, produced a fantastic performance against the Gunners as Liverpool won 3-0 at the Emirates Stadium. The local lad from Liverpool produced a stunning cross for Diogo Jota who scored the opening goal of the match after coming on as a substitute. He was also involved in the build-up to the final goal, also scored by Jota. Former Villa striker turned popular football pundit Agbonlahor has claimed ...

Everton blow late lead against Crystal Palace

Everton’s hopes of a top-four finish in the Premier League were dented by Michy Batshuayi’s 86th minute equaliser to salvage a 1-1 draw for Crystal Palace at Goodison Park on Monday. The Toffees were made to rue a string of missed chances either side of James Rodriguez’s opener as they only narrowly closed the gap on fourth-placed Chelsea to four points. Rodriguez’s return from injury for the first time since Everton ended a two-decade wait to beat Liverpool away in the Merseyside derby in February sparked a far more enterprising performance from Carlo Ancelotti’s men. Vicente Guaita was forced into fine saves from Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison in a dominant first-half display from the home side. Rodriguez finally broke the deadlock 11 minutes into the second-half when he fired hom...

Rio Ferdinand predicts where Liverpool will finish after thumping win over Arsenal

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand believes Liverpool have a strong chance of finishing in the top four after a stunning performance against Arsenal on Saturday. The Reds have struggled with their form since the turn of the year, but they comfortably beat the Gunners 3-0 at the Emirates Stadium. Speaking on BT Sport yesterday, Ferdinand said that the Reds are best placed to finish in the top four ahead of Chelsea, Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur. He added that the Merseyside giants could get on a winning run, and he has the sneaky feeling that they will make it, though he wouldn’t want them due to the fierce rivalry. He said via football.london: “I think Liverpool are going to get in there now. “The result they got at the weekend, the performance and the confidence that will ...

Madrid sweating on playmaker’s fitness, Liverpool without the usual suspects

The Champions League returns to action on Tuesday as Real Madrid welcome Liverpool to the Alfredo di Stéfano Stadium in a mouth-watering quarter-final tie. Jurgen Klopp’s men will be looking to inflict revenge on Madrid for a heartbreaking 3-1 defeat in the competition final back in 2018/19. However, the Reds have lost three consecutive Champions League meetings with Los Blancos after winning the previous two ‘to nil.’ Real Madrid Preview Madrid swept Atalanta aside 4-1 on aggregate (1-0 A, 3-1 H) in the round of 16 to set up their first Champions League quarter-final appearances in three years. Los Merengues suffered a dismal 5-0 aggregate defeat in their only previous Champions League two-legged tie against Liverpool. Having won their last three Champions League fixtures, the reigning La...

Man United ‘moving’ to sign €50m La Liga attacker, Liverpool monitoring him

Manchester United are ‘moving’ to sign Barcelona attacker Ousmane Dembele this summer while Liverpool monitor his situation, Mundo Deportivo reports. Dembele has had a tough time with the Blaugrana over the past three-and-a-half years, where he has suffered as many as 10 injuries. He has still impressed with 28 goals and 20 assists from 109 outings and has stayed unscathed for most of the current campaign. United failed with an attempt to sign Dembele on loan last summer but have been encouraged to make a fresh move after monitoring his progress. Juventus have also been credited with an interest in signing the World Cup winner, who has less than 15 months left on his Blaugrana contract. Elsewhere, Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool have not made any contact, but they are keeping a close eye...

Arsenal suffer fresh injury blow ahead of Liverpool clash, three players doubtful

Arsenal have provided a worrying fitness update ahead of the Premier League clash against Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium tonight. The club have now revealed that both players will be assessed ahead of the late kick-off against Jurgen Klopp’s side. Granit Xhaka is also doubtful for the game as he was feeling unwell on Friday, but Willian is back in contention after overcoming a calf problem. While Saka, Smith Rowe and Xhaka could yet play a part, the Gunners have provided a surprise update by confirming that David Luiz is ruled out. The Brazilian is said to have experienced discomfort in his right knee, and it has been confirmed that he won’t be ...

Predicted Liverpool starting XI: Klopp to make just one change; 29-year-old returns

Liverpool are back in action after almost three weeks away. They face a pivotal week, with Arsenal first up on Saturday at the Emirates followed by a mouth-watering Champions League clash against Real Madrid.  After seeing their title defence crumble, Jurgen Klopp has vowed to end the season on a high. A top-four finish is high on their priority list. The Reds find themselves just five points behind fourth-placed Chelsea, and their faint hopes of a top-four finish are still alive. Ahead of the match, Klopp has confirmed that Roberto Firmino, 29, is back in training after three games out, and he is available for selection. It should comfort Klopp that none of his 12 internationals returned with injury issues, while the likes of Diogo Jota and Xherdan Shaqiri producing a ...

Popular pundit reckons 29-cap Int’l ‘could be the ideal replacement’ for Celtic star

Celtic are expected to move for a new striker at the end of this season and popular pundit Paul Robinson believes that Divock Origi would be a good signing for them. Speaking to Football Insider, Robinson said: “It is time for Origi to step up. Could he replace Edouard at Celtic? He could be the ideal replacement if he can perform consistently. “Origi is a top talent and a top athlete. He has been known as a super sub and he has scored some incredible late goals. But he needs to go and play regularly now, that is the only way he will develop further. “He is capable of scoring goals, we have seen that. Can he do it consistently for a season though?  An amazing player on his day but it remains to be seen as to whether he can do it game after game. “It would be a risk for Celtic to ...

Liverpool leading the race to sign to sign £42m Everton target

Liverpool are reportedly leading the race to sign Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly in the summer transfer window.  Napoli are willing to sell the defender this summer, and the Reds are at the head of the queue to sign him in a €50 million (£42m) deal. The Senegal defender has been linked with a move away from Napoli in recent years, but he has remained with the Serie A club. With his contract due to expire next summer, this window represents the final opportunity for Napoli to get a significant fee for him before they risk losing him for nothing. According to Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp likes him, and the Reds have already made contact with Napoli ahead of a potential move. However, the Reds could face strong competition from Merseyside ri...

Mo Salah dreams of future La Liga action

Mohamed Salah has hinted his future could lie in Spanish football amid continued speculation the forward could leave Liverpool. The Premier League’s joint-top scorer this season is under contract at Anfield until 2023 but has been linked with a move elsewhere, with Barcelona and Real Madrid often touted as potential destinations for Salah if he were to depart Merseyside. Last year, the forward described the Spanish sides as two “great” clubs, but Jurgen Klopp later played down any transfer talk surrounding the Egypt international. Liverpool play Real Madrid in the quarter-finals of the Champions League in April as the two sides meet for the first time since 2018’s final in Kiev which finished 3-1 to the Spanish side and ahead of the games, Salah refused to rule out a future move to La Liga...

Liverpool reportedly want £45k-per-week PL star, he has impressed Michael Edwards

Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Leicester City defender Caglar Soyuncu.  According to reports from the Daily Mirror, the Turkish defender is one of the names on their five-man defender wishlist. Yesterday, The Athletic and several other media outlets claimed that Liverpool are interested in signing French defender Ibrahima Konate. Liverpool have endured torrid luck with their injuries this season, especially in defence, with the Reds missing the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip for almost the entire season. Jurgen Klopp signed Ben Davies in January, while Ozan Kabak also joined on loan from Schalke. Liverpool can sign him permanently this summer by paying £18 million, and he remains an option for the Reds. The Mirror claims that Ben...
