Jurgen Klopp’s side are just six points away from being crowned champions having secured 27 wins out of the 29 games played thus far, but three points will be enough to mathematically make them champions-elect if Manchester City lose to Arsenal on June 17. Liverpool would definitely love to win the title at Goodison Park, but Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford believes the Toffees can stop them and hand them their second league loss of the campaign. “We want to win every game we play and any sort of derby match is massive for the fans and for players,” the England international told Sky Sports News. “We want to show how good we c...

Report shares what Klopp told Werner in last phone call before Chelsea swooped

According to The Athletic, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp called RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner to explain why a summer move to Anfield would not happen following consultation with parent company Fenway Sports Group. The Reds boss insisted that the decision was purely a financial one as he has no negative reflection on the player or his proposed role in his squad. Both Germans remain on good terms after Werner came to terms with the explanation, but it wasn’t enough to convince him to go ahead with plan B – which was to wait until next season – hence, his decision to agree to a move to Chelsea. The Blues were more than ready to meet his £54 million release clause in full as owner Roman Abramovich is keen to back boss Frank Lampard in the summer transfer market by making at least two marque...

Whelan urges Leeds to sign ‘very, very exciting player’ who is ‘admired by Bielsa’

Leeds have tried to sign the player twice in the past and Bielsa is thought to be an admirer. It will be interesting to see if the Whites make a move for Wilson this summer as well. Whelan believes that the Liverpool player would be an exciting signing for Leeds and the Whites need a creative player like him. He said to Football Insider: “It could be third time lucky. He has gone to Bournemouth and Der...
