Source: PYMCA / Getty Cardi B is currently sorting her life out now that she’s filed for divorce from her soon-to-be ex-husband Offset. While we’re unsure what her healing process is like these days, it’s clear the Bronx rapper has found a supportive friend in Lizzo. Fans skimming through Cardi’s Instagram Story caught a video of her fawning over a bouquet of flowers while holding a handwritten note. The sender turned out to be none other than “Feelin Good As Hell” singer Lizzo. Not one to cry, Cardi’s reaction to the gesture was excitingly sincere.  “Lizzo [is] like the nicest person in the world,” she exclaimed. “Look what she sent me! She is just a beautiful ass person. I just love her so much!”    The note was equally heartfelt and signaled a clear bond developed be...

Lizzo Sees Victory After Judge Sides With Her Over ‘Truth Hurts’ Lawsuit

Source: WENN/Avalon / WENN Lizzo is walking in her truth once again after a judge sided with her in court. According to published reports, a judge in the United States District Court Central District of California dismissed the countersuit against the “Cuz I Love You” singer after three individuals, Justin Raisen, Jeremiah Raisen, and Justin “Yves” Rothman, was seeking royalties from the song. The 101 Best Albums of the 2010s

Why now? Because — and there’s no reason to ignore the elephant in the room: SPIN stewardship has changed hands many, many times since we made the online jump — we got our chance. Because plenty of our favorite albums of the last 10 years could still use a boost. Because some of the already unanimously beloved music on this list still merits further praise. Because we relish excuses to sound off on the music that’s affected us the most and to enlist some of our favorite writers to do so. Because the works of art below serve as a reminder that the 2010s weren’t all bad. Because lord knows we need the distraction. Because it’s fun. There’s a lot of music that isn’t on this list. Which, duh, but plenty of artists whose work defined the decade for many, many people, including many of us, ...

Listen to Our Best 50 Songs of the Year So Far

Last week we shared our list of the 50 Best Songs of 2020 (So Far), and we’ve curated a playlist so you can listen to the standout bops of the year in a seamless fashion (you’re welcome). The list covers all musical ground, from the Dixie Chicks to the Used, Dua Lipa to Bob Dylan, Lizzo to TOKiMONSTA, and, let’s face it, is a great source of distraction during a year that seems to just get worse and worse as the months pass. Fiona Apple “confronts her internal strife, but doesn’t sink into it” in “Heavy Balloon” off her equally stunning album Fetch the Bolt Cutters, while Billie Eilish becomes the youngest artist to pen a James Bond theme song with “No Time to Die,” a song that features the 18-year-old’s “beyond-her-years soprano that tops a quietly haunted melody ...

The 50 Best Songs of 2020 (So Far)

Great songs have a freedom that albums don’t because great songs only have to pull off their trick once. It’s like how a great SNL sketch can be a terrible movie or why Vine was an underrated miracle of online comedy. Sometimes an artist can get a lot more done in miniature. When people say that no one listens to albums anymore, they’re obviously mistaken, but they mean that no one listens to certain kinds of albums anymore. They won’t wait to get to the good part, and an industry that’s been padding out their wares for decades has had to adapt to a new reality where the customer is always dope. From Hailey Whitters to Hayley Williams, from King Von to Christine and the Queens, here’s a supercut of just the good parts: The songs that have challenged and delighted and comforted us through a...
