As live events and festivals begin to set their sights on a brighter post-COVID future in 2021, Lollapalooza Paris has opted to postpone once again amid uncertainty surrounding safety regulations into the summer. Originally slated for July 17th and 18th, 2021, Lollapalooza’s Paris edition will forgo another year in order to ensure safe operations and a semblance of normalcy in the aftermath of the COVID-19 era. Perry Farrell has revealed more details about Lollapalooza’s potential return in 2021. While speaking to iHeartRadio’s Jason Rockman, the Jane’s Addiction frontman/festival co-founder said he’s hopeful the festival will happen in some capacity this summer. “If we can all stay on course, get vaccinated, stay socially distanced and masked up, maybe — please, God, maybe — we’ll get to go to Chicago in early August in one capacity or another,” he said. “If it’s not a giant Lollapalooza, it might be a half-capacity Lollapalooza or no Lollapalooza. Now that there’s a COVID vaccine out, it seems like a return to large-scale events could be around the corner. Look no further than today’s Lollapalooza Stockholm announcement. Pearl Jam, Kendrick Lamar, Post Malone, the Killers, DaBaby, Kacey Musgraves, the Pretty Reckless, Doja Cat and many more feature on the lineup. The event will take place from July 2-4 at Gärdet in Stockholm. Using an impressive array of green screens, NGHTMRE was able to transport viewers to a simulated version of Chicago for his Lolla2020 performance. For his performance on the third day of the virtual Lollapalooza 2020 celebration, NGHTMRE digitally recreated one of the festival’s most iconic stages. Using green screen technology, the multi-genre producer was able to simulate the dance music-focused Perry’s Stage.
