Los Angeles Mandates Full COVID-19 Vaccination for Indoor Concerts and Movie Theaters
Los Angeles is the latest municipality to pass a broad mandate requiring proof of full COVID-19 vaccination to enter indoor concerts, movie theaters, restaurants, gyms, nail salons, coffee shops, and more. Proof of a recent negative COVID test will not be accepted instead. As The Hollywood Reporter notes, the ordinance passed the council on an 11-2 vote, and is expected to take effect November 4th. Patrons of Los Angeles’ nightclubs and bars will now be required to present proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test result for entry under a new mandate set to go into effect on October 7th. The mandate comes as COVID-19 cases in the United States have surged, and the looming threat of the Delta variant and other COVID-19 strains grows. L.A. Los Angeles County Announces Outdoor Mask Mandate for Large Events
With cases of the COVID-19 Delta variant on the rise, health and government officials in Los Angeles County have announced new safety measures in the city. Their latest mandate will require all people, regardless of vaccination status, to wear face coverings when attending “Outdoor Mega-Events,” defined as having a crowd size of 10,000 or more. The mandate, which covers music festivals, sporting events, parades and more, officially goes into effect today, August 19th at 11:59PM.
