Subtronics wrapped five IDs into one convenient package for fans who missed him at Lost Lands last weekend. Rather than having to scour through dozens of short, low-quality recordings of his set, Subtronics uploaded a video that has footage of five unreleased tracks in one convenient place, filmed by videographer Andrew Freeman. The video features clips of the Cyclops Recordings boss dropping VIP versions of his collaborative tunes “Bunker Buster” (with Lost Lands founder Excision), “Take Flight” (with Sullivan King), and a special Lost Lands VIP of “Gravity” (with SLANDER and JT Roach). To the delight of fans, he closes out the video with a brand new original ID mixed with the vocals from M.I.A’s classic “Paper Planes.” Interestin...

In perhaps the most surprising news from Lost Lands over the weekend, 7’1″ 320lb DJ Diesel—perhaps better known as former NBA center Shaquille O’Neal—went crowd-surfing. That’s a lot of man to hold up and send sailing across a crowd of ravers who had been going hard all day. Scottie Pippen, Penny Hardaway, Steve Nash, and countless other players had a world of trouble on their hands trying to hold the four-time NBA champion back on the court, and the Lost Lands crowd was no different. Despite their best efforts, their arms and legs buckled under the weight of Diesel, who quickly dropped to the ground atop a slew of unfortunate souls. Their attempt was, well, admirable: O’Neal has been known to join the crowd during sets, but this is the first time a ...

Those who attend Lost Lands this year will experience something no Excision fan has before. Friday evening, the dubstep virtuoso informed fans about what they can expect from his performances at his flagship music festival later this month. Like previous outings, Excision will be throwing down a two-hour set, a special Detox performance, and for the first time in his career, an all-original throwback set. Excision took to Twitter to offer a glimpse of what’s in store. “I have never performed a set of just Excision tracks and remixes before,” he wrote, “and I can’t wait to debut this for Lost Lands!” In a reply to the initial announcement, Excision shared that the set will primarily feature tracks from 2013 to 2018. After responding to a graphic allegation of sexual assault, electronic music producer STUCA has been removed from a triad of major music festival lineups. On the morning of August 16th a woman named Mady Ward published an account on Twitter accusing STUCA, whose real name is Geoff Boss, of engaging in a number of unwanted, traumatic sexual encounters she says eventually led to a suicide attempt. In the wake of the allegation the organizers of Lost Lands, Bass Canyon, and Paradise Blue have removed STUCA from the lineup of each music festival. A source with knowledge of the situation confirmed the removals to EDM.com, but declined to comment further. Ward says that before she met Boss in person, she overtly told him she was seeking a platonic relationship, a scenario he agreed to. However, ...

After his flagship Lost Lands festival sold out in the blink of an eye, Excision has now invited all headbangers to Ohio for a brand new festival called Reunion. He took to Twitter to announce the two-day bass music extravaganza, which is scheduled for July 16th and 17th at Legend Valley, the home of Lost Lands. According to a statement shared by the dubstep star, Reunion will not be a camping festival like its dinosaur-themed companion event, but there will be shuttles to and from Columbus hotels and free day parking to soften the blow for attendees traveling in. “Over the last year, the team and I have had a lot of time to get creative. The one thing we couldn’t stop thinking about was getting back to live shows and celebrating with you all,” Excision’s statement r...
Lost Lands may be sold-out, but that doesn’t mean fans can’t experience the fest’s grand return in 2021. Excision‘s flagship music festival, a bass music utopia situated in Ohio’s Legend Valley, sold out in record time due to an incredibly high demand for tickets after a year devoid of music festivals. As the live music industry slowly inches toward reopening amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Excision is eyeing a safe return. The superstar bass music producer and DJ took to Twitter today to share a lengthy statement about the immediate future of Lost Lands, Bass Canyon, and other music festivals navigating the impact of the virus. “Even though we are still unable to host and play shows like we used to, it’s slowly becoming safer as the weeks go by. We don’t know when live shows will come back in full force, maybe it will be earlier than predicted, or maybe it will be later,” Excision wrote. “But no matter what, we have to be ready. Large scale festivals take many months to plan properly, so we have to accept that if we want live events to be waiting for ...
Someone who just launched a new record label with 118 songs, headlined a major virtual music festival, and trended on Twitter doesn’t usually have the time or energy to focus on other projects. Excision, however, isn’t just anyone. In a new interview with Forbes about the launch of his new Subsidia Records banner, Excision waxed poetic about a number of intimate topics. In addition to delving into highlights from his career, advice he’d give to his future self, and the inspiration behind Subsidia, he also stressed the importance of voting ahead of the impending federal election. “I really want everyone who reads this to register to vote. This goes for every country in the world,” Excision said. “There is so much discussion over changes that we want to ma...
