A lawsuit filed against Marilyn Manson by his former assistant Ashley Walters was dismissed yesterday (May 25) by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael L. Stern. Walters had alleged sexual harassment, abuse, sexual battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and wrongful termination in her suit, which was filed in May 2021. Manson denied the allegations. According to Billboard, Stern ruled that Walters had “too few facts to keep this case in court” and that the suit was filed too late to meet the statute of limitations rules. Walters worked for Manson between 2010 and 2011 and said her memories of the incidents were repressed, thus delaying her filing. The case was dismissed with prejudice means Walters cannot sue Manson again for the same claims. “We are deeply disappointed ...

She also named his label, Marilyn Manson Records Inc., as a co-defendant. Manson has since denied all c...
Marilyn Manson is suing Evan Rachel Wood for defamation regarding her accusations last February that he sexually abused her. The suit was filed on Wednesday in Los Angeles Superior Court. In the filing obtained by SPIN, Manson claims that Wood and her “her on-again, off-again romantic partner” Ashley “Illma” Gore have publicly cast the shocker as “a rapist and abuser—a malicious falsehood that has derailed Warner’s successful music, TV, and film career.” In the suit, Manson alleges that Wood “soaked up the spirited rock-and-roll lifestyle that came with being Warner’ssignificant other” and goes on in the decade after they broke up Wood never accused Manson of abuse until she met Gore. The suit calls Gore a “grifter who understood that an organized attack on Warner—spearheaded by Wood’s own...
On Sunday, the first part of Evan Rachel Wood’s new documentary, Phoenix Rising, aired at Sundance. In it, Wood said that Marilyn Manson “essentially raped” her on the set of a music video. In a statement obtained by SPIN, Manson’s lawyer, Howard King, said that the artist, born Brian Warner, denies the accusations. You can read that in full below. “Of all the false claims that Evan Rachel Wood has made about Brian Warner, her imaginative retelling of the making of the “Heart-Shaped Glasses” music video 15 years ago is the most brazen and easiest to disprove, because there were multiple witnesses. “Evan was not only fully coherent and engaged during the three-day shoot but also heavily involved in weeks of pre-production planning and days of post-production editing of the final cut. “The s...
This year’s Grammy nominations caused a stir when comedians Louis C.K. and Dave Chappelle, rapper DaBaby and musician Marilyn Manson were all nominated. This year alone, Manson was accused of sexual abuse by many women. Today, Manson was removed from the Best Rap Song category, according to the New York Times, which was for his contribution as a credited songwriter and featured artist on Kanye West’s Donda. Manson was nominated twice for the 2022 Grammys, and was listed on West’s track “Jail.” Manson joined West alongside DaBaby on both West’s album released this year and at the Donda rapper’s Chicago listening event around the time of its release. Because of recent Grammy rule changes, all songwriters who worked on Donda were included in the nominations. Manson is credited ...
On Tuesday morning, the Recording Academy revealed the full slate of nominations for the 64th Annual Grammy Awards. Over the past few tumultuous years, the Recording Academy has overseen changes in leadership and nominating procedures, with one more twist being announced just this morning before the nominations were unveiled: the Big Four general field categories (Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best New Artist) would grow from 8 to 10 nominees each. This is the second expansion in recent years, with only five nominees in those categories through 2018. The 10 nominees for Album of the Year include on-again-off-again rival superstars Kanye West and Taylor Swift. West, who was nominated for Album of the Year for each of his first three albums, has not been in the...
A week after a suit filed by a Jane Doe against Marilyn Manson was dismissed by a judge who stated that initial accusations were “not sufficient to invoke the delayed discovery rule,” she refiled the suit in Los Angeles on Thursday. In the amended complaint viewed by SPIN, Doe details Manson’s alleged sexual assault and abuse, claiming that Manson told her that he would “bash her head in” if she reported him to the police. Doe also outlines why her complaint should qualify for the delayed discovery within the statute of limitations, including how Mason reportedly raped and abused her. She claims Manson would force her “to have sex with him, and to be on top of him during sex. She would pray for Warner to pass out during intercourse. When this happened, Plaintiff would try to slip away and ...
A Jane Doe who accused Marilyn Manson of raping her in 2011 has had her case dismissed. In a hearing on Tuesday, September 14 and in paperwork viewed by SPIN, Judge Gregory Keosian sustained Manson (born Brian Warner)’s demurrer and dismissed the complaint due to the expiration of the statute of limitations. This suit was filed in May when the accuser alleged that Manson raped her after they started dating in 2011. Judge Keosian dismissed the case saying that due to Jane Doe’s claim of repressed memories, there wasn’t enough evidence to extend the statute of limitations in the case (which, in the legal filings, is called “delayed discovery”). However, Jane Doe has 20 days to amend her suit if she can provide additional details about the alleged incident. The shock rocker still faces three ...
Actress and musician Evan Rachel Wood flipped the bird to her alleged abuser Marilyn Manson during her concert at the Bourbon Room in Hollywood Saturday night. Singing the New Radicals’ “You Get What You Give,” Wood simultaneously sang the lyrics, “Fashion shoots with Beck and Hanson / … Marilyn Manson.” The crowd cheered for Wood and she threw up her arms in the air. The video begins with Wood telling the audience, “I’ve been saving this, but it seems like an appropriate time.” This comes a few days after Manson’s appearance at Kanye West’s Donda listening party at Soldier Field in Chicago. Her caption on Instagram is in support of survivors: “For my fellow survivors who got slapped in the face this week. I love you. Don’t give up.” Wood spoke out in February, accusing Manson of grooming ...
