America’s most perplexing fast food phenomenon has returned: For the first time in eight years, the McDonald’s McRib sandwich will be available nationwide beginning December 2nd. The McRib first appeared in 1982, and has achieved a cult following based as much on its limited availability as its (extremely dubious) taste. It was last widely attainable in 2012, but as the most McRabid McRib fans know, the sandwich actually comes out every year. But it’s purposefully difficult to find, and the Golden Arches have even rolled out a McRib locator app to encourage road trips and beam advertisements directly to your phone. Now, as CNBC reports, it will be coming to 10,000 of Mickey D’s 14,000 stores. So what’s the big deal? The patty is made of pork — or at least, a product that resembles pork in ...

According to Business Insider the McRib will make a return as a nationwide menu item at select Mickey D locations on December 2nd after its 8-year hiatus. The pork parts product in-between two buns have had a cult following since its debut back in the 80’s when no one questioned what meat was made of. Since then McDonald’s relished in the news of McRib retro releases with many of them going on cross-country missions just to bite into the saucey sandwich. “The McRib has been a beloved menu item at McDonald’s since its inception nearly 40 years ago,” Linda VanGosen, McDonald’s vice president of men...
Source: Kevin Mazur / Getty The McDonald’s checks Travis Scott and J Balvin collected to create a custom meal for the franchise must be supersized because Quavo is on social media shooting his shot for his own deal. On Sunday (Oct. 18), the Migos rapper posted photos of his visit to the restaurant on Instagram both with and without a mask where he placed his would-be custom order from an unmanned, socially-distanced kiosk. The series of photos included a close-up of the items to seal the deal. “Double Cheeseburger Plain New Spicy Nuggets Medium Fries BBQ Sauce (Hot N Fresh),” the rapper announced. “What U Want ???” No word if the big-wigs at the Golden Arches were impressed with his pitch, but it clearly demonstrates how big of a wave the partnerships are making with fans. ...
Young Thug, Travis Scott, and M.I.A. on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Travis Scott was both the lead guest and musical performer on the Thursday night’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live. When he wasn’t pimping burgers for McDonald’s, Scott reminded everyone that there’s an artist lurking beneath the brands with a performance of “Franchise”. Scott’s interview covered his new promotional deal with the Golden Arches, which is basically just a quarter pounder meal with limited options. The so-called “Travis Scott Meal” became a TikTok sensation, and so popular that some stores began to run out of quarter-pound patties. The Houston rapper then shifted into high gear for his delivery of “Franchise”, assisted remotely by collaborators M.I.A. and Young Thug. The high-production performance played out more l...
Source: Thaddaeus McAdams / Getty Lil Yachty has been arrested and released. According to WSB-TV in Atlanta, the Atlanta rapper was arrested last week and charged with driving more than 150 mph down an Atlanta interstate. Lil Yachty, whose legal name is Miles McCollum, was pulled over Sept. 21 in downtown Atlanta after being observed by officers going high speeds in his white Ferrari. McCollum was charged with reckless driving and speeding before being sent to the Atlanta City jail, according to the Georgia State Police. Channel 2 Action News noted that the same location of the rapper’s recent arrest was also the same location that the rapper previously crashed a red Ferrari back in June. At that time, witnesses said his speed and the wet roads led to the crash that totaled his vehicl...
Travis Scott’s McDonald’s value meal may have left much to be desired, but the same cannot be said for the companion merch capsule. Scott is offering 60 (!) different pieces of McDonald’s themed memorabilia, including custom t-shirts, hoodies, and hats. The real good stuff, however, can be found toward the bottom of the page; there’s two types of McDonald’s throw rugs, a vintage lunch box and lunch tray, a burger tie, and a Happy Meal-inspired clutch. But the true star of the show is the 36″ body pillow made to look like a giant chicken McNugget. The merch retails between $25 and $300 and begins shipping in four to six weeks. As for Scott’s McDonald’s value meal, that’s available at select locations from now through October 8th. The $5.79 menu item includes a quarter pounder with cheese an...
By its own admission, McDonald’s has been struggling to reach consumers 34 and younger. Rather than engaging with issues that young people care about — nutrition and environmental sustainability come to mind — the Golden Arches have instead tried the “How do you do, fellow kids?” approach, and partnered with Travis Scott to offer the same shit that was already on the menu. The last time that Ronald and friends linked up with a celebrity sponsor was thirty years ago with Michael Jordan. That endorsement-free era has ended, as McDonald’s announced the Travis Scott Meal in a news release earlier today. It comes with a quarter pounder with cheese (add bacon), plus french fries, barbecue sauce, and a Sprite. Growing up, we called that a #3, but for a limited time it’s the Cactus Jack speci...
