Bauchi governor orders payment of salaries

Bauchi State Governor, Sen. Bala Mohammed, has approved the payment of May, 2020 salaries of Civil Servants in the state ahead of the Eid-el Fitr celebration. His Senior Special Assistant on Media, Muktar Gidado, revealed this on Sunday in a statement. He said the Governor has directed the State Accountant General to ensure that the salaries are paid on or before the 20th of May. He explained the development was to enable workers, including pensioners enjoy a happy Eid-el Fitr celebrations. Mohammed assured civil servants in the state of the commitment of his administration to prompt payment of salaries in addition to other reforms introduced to ensure effective service delivery. President Buhari gets Madagascar herbal formula

PTF: NAFDAC screening local cures for coronavirus

The Federal Government said yesterday it has evaluated claims by local researchers that they have manufactured curative drugs for COVID-19. It explained that having met preliminary requirements, the drugs had been forwarded to the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, for listing. National Coordinator of the Presidential Task Force for COVID-19, Dr. Sani Aliyu, had restated the federal government’s position on Wednesday that no cure had been found for the disease. The government also expressed worries over the continued repatriation of Almajiriai by states, saying the development could fuel a spike in infections.
