Today “Taki Taki” sits at a staggering 1.2 billion streams on Spotify alone. Their forthcoming collaboration, dubbed “La Funka,” isn’t short on star power. Chart-topping rapper Megan Thee Stallion and K-pop supergroup BLACKPINK are joining the effort, Ozuna said.  The track will mark the second appearance on a dance music record for bo...

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Bernard Smalls / @PhotosByBeanz83 Despite being more accepting, Hip-Hop still has a homophobia problem. That has been clear thanks to DaBaby’s homophobic Rolling Loud Miami moment and the knee-jerk reactions to Lil Nas X’s brilliant visual for his latest single, “Industry Baby.” The Houston rapper spoke with People Magazine about what she feels is Hip-Hop’s reckoning with homophobia and feels it was a long time coming. “It is about time,” Thee Stallion said. “Representation is important, and it is really crucial for us all to have compassion and acceptance of every human.” The “Big Ole Freak” crafter herself was the subject of some criticism when someone decided to dig up an old tweet from 2019 where she used a gay slur to address a hater. “This lil f****...

Black TikTokker’s Are Boycotting ‘Thot Sh*t’ To Put White Users On Blast For Stealing Dance Moves

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Bernard Smalls / @PhotosByBeanz83 It’s no secret. Black people are the sole reason social media is popping. This latest protest on TikTok is proving that point easily. Megan Thee Stallion’s new summer anthem “Thot Sh*t” is tailor-made to go viral on TikTok. The song, which also serves as a clap back to conservative pundits who had something to say about “WAP,” has a catchy hook, plus the instructions for the dance are quite simple. Still, if you noticed, there are no viral moments anywhere featuring Thee Stallion’s latest single, and that’s on purpose. Black creatives on TikTok have grown really tired of not getting the credit for the plethora of dance moves they have created on the app that white users jack without shame and get all recognition for their...
