An electronic music pioneer is putting his storied career to the page in an upcoming memoir.  Former Kraftwerk member Karl Bartos has revealed The Sound of the Machine. The new book chronicles the rise of the pioneering band, who recently joined the very selective club of electronic music artists inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2021. “I reveal why our music – created in the analogue world – has survived its digital substitute,” Bartos said of the memoir, per Euronews. “As I see it, in our best moments the compositions are a testament to our search for the poetry concealed in the sound of the machine.” Karl Bartos became Kraftwerk’s fourth member in the mid-1970s and remained a member of the group until 1990. Mark Hoppus Writing Memoir About Blink-182 and Surviving Cancer

As if Blink-182 reuniting their classic lineup wasn’t exciting enough, Mark Hoppus has revealed he’s working on a memoir about his career with the band and recent battle with cancer. In a red carpet interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the singer and bassist said he was “finalizing the deal” for the book, which he started writing earlier this year. “I’m not that far into it yet but I’m writing a book about my life and experience in Blink and what I’ve gone through over the past year or so,” Hoppus said about the project, which he described to THR as a combination of a music memoir and medical journey. “We’re finalizing the deal and I’m really happy with the way that’s coming together. Bono Announces Book Tour

Bono will promote his upcoming memoir by embarking on a 14-city book tour this fall. Kicking off at at Beacon Theatre on November 2nd, Bono’s “Stories of SURRENDER” tour will then make stops in Boston, Toronto, Chicago, Nashville, San Francisco, Los Angeles, London, Glasgow, Manchester, Berlin, Paris, Dublin, and Madrid. Bono Announces New Memoir Surrender Breaking Down U2 Songs

Bono recently said he’s “embarrassed” by most of U2’s catalog, but apparently that didn’t stop him from writing a memoir structured around his band’s songs. Titled Surrender: 40 Songs, One Story, the book is out on November 1st via Knopf. As the title suggests, Surrender contains 40 chapters — each of which is named after a U2 song — as well as 40 original drawings created by Bono specifically for the memoir. In the book, he’ll also take readers through the journey of his upbringing in Dublin, the loss of his mother, and humanitarian work dedicated to the fight against AIDS and extreme poverty. “When I started to write this book, I was hoping to draw in detail what I’d previously only sketched in songs,” Bono said in a press release. “The people, places, and possibilities in my life. ...
