Shadows Fall reunited for their first show in six years on Saturday (December 18th) at The Palladium in Worcester, Massachusetts. The influential metalcore band had previously announced the one-off concert in its home state way back in June. Before that, we hadn’t heard much of anything from the Shadows Fall camp since the group went on hiatus following gigs in 2015 — although guitarist Jon Donais has been keeping busy as a member of Anthrax the past several years. Between the Buried and Me have announced a 2022 North American tour with support from Car Bomb. At each stop, BTBAM promise to play an “extended set” in support of their excellent 2021 offering, Colors II, which recently landed in our Top 30 Metal & Hard Rock Albums of 2021. The outing kicks off February 22nd in Asheville, North Carolina — near the band’s hometown in Raleigh — and runs through a March 31st date in Columbia, South Carolina. Converge and Chelsea Wolfe Announce New Collaborative Album, Share “Blood Moon”: Stream
Converge and Chelsea Wolfe have announced a new collaborative album entitled Bloodmoon: I, arriving November 19th. As a preview, they’ve shared the music video for its lead single, “Blood Moon.” The collaborative effort also features Wolfe’s musical writing partner Ben Chisholm and Cave In’s Stephen Brodsky. The star-studded project came together out of the desire “to do something grander than the typical four-piece Converge music,” according to vocalist Jacob Bannon. The eight-plus-minute “Blood Moon” showcases the sheer ambition of the collab. Bring Me the Horizon are back with a new single “DiE4u,” continuing their evolution from brutal deathcore upstarts to metalcore favorites to an infectious pop group. Meshuggah Announce 2022 US Tour with Converge and Torche
Swedish metal veterans Meshuggah have announced a 2022 US tour with support from Converge and Torche. The 19-date outing will launch in late February. Meshuggah have been going strong for nearly 35 years, having formed in 1987, and are pioneers of extreme tech-metal. The entire tour lineup is impressive and intriguing, with Converge being one of the early architects of metalcore, and Torche earning acclaim over the past 15 years for their eclectic mix of sludge and melody.
