Kaduna air crash: Senator Tinubu, others condole with President Buhari at Aso Villa

President Muhammadu Buhari, Monday night, received National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, and pioneer Interim Chairman of the party, Chief Bisi Akande, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. The were received at the President’s official residence inside the Presidential Villa, where they came to pay condolences over the air crash last Friday, which claimed the lives of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru, and ten other officers and men in Kaduna. Ondo governor: No land in southern Nigeria will be ceded to invaders masquerading as herdsmen

The Ondo State Governor and Chairman of the Southern Governors Forum, Mr Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has declared that “no inch of the space delineated and known, currently, as South West, and indeed the whole South, will be ceded to a band of invaders masquerading as herdsmen under any guise.” Akeredolu made the declaration in a statement signed by his Senior Special Assistant Special Duties and Strategies, Dr Doyin Odebowale. President Muhammadu Buhari has summoned an extraordinary summit of Heads of State and Government of Lake Chad Basin Commission (LCBC) at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja. Kaduna plane crash: President Buhari orders flag flown at half-mast

President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered flag to be flown at half-mast in honour of Lt. General Ibrahim Attahiru, the late Chief of Army Staff and 10 others who died in the Friday air crash. SERAP urges President Buhari to tell Nigerians spending plan for James Ibori loot, others

House mourns army chief, others

Members of the House of Representatives have expressed sadness over the death of Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru and his entourage in an air crash in Kaduna. Attahiru, along with six senior officers and four crew members were onboard Nigerian Air Force Kingair 350 from Abuja to Kaduna, ahead of today’s passing out parade of soldiers from the Nigerian Army Depot in Zaria, when the crash happened amid torrential rainfall, on Friday evening. NCC: Subscribers not required to submit IMEI number

President Buhari seeks Senate’s approval to borrow $6.18 billion

President Muhammadu Buhari has sought the approval of the Senate to borrow $6.18 billion external loan to finance this year’s N5.6 trillion budget deficit. The president’s request is contained in a letter addressed to the President of the Senate, Dr Ahmad Lawan, and read by Lawan at Tuesday’s plenary. President Buhari said the proposed loan, which is equivalent of N2.3 trillion, is to finance the 2021 budget deficit of N5.6 trillion.
