The Duffer Brothers have created four extraordinary series of Stranger Things in which the child actors have grown into young adults. In this latest series the characters are facing many of the same challenges that exist in reality right now. I believe the Duffer Brothers have touched people’s hearts in a special way, at a time that’s incredibly difficult for everyone, especially younger people. By featuring Running Up That Hill in such a positive light – as a talisman for Max (one of the main female characters) – the song has been brought into the emotional arena of her story. Fear, conflict and the power of love are all around her and her friends. I salute the Duffer Brothers for their courage – taking this new series into a much more adult and darker place. I wan...

Additional exeuctive producers of the series include Clark Reinking, Dave Paige, Christine Sm...
Following the premiere of his Untrapped: The Story of Lil Baby documentary at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City, Lil Baby has dropped off a new single, titled “U-Digg,” featuring 42 Dugg and Veeze, with a flex-filled music video. The video, which was directed by Baby, sees the trio counting stacks of cash and flaunting their iced-out chains among an entourage of high-end cars. “Got a white girl like Mary Jane, tryna swing in like Peter Parker / Can’t blame him, that’s my son, he just doin’ the sh*t I taught him,” Baby raps. “On Rodeo in a Maybach, they think that that’s Rick Ross / Wanna f*ck me, she a broke b*tch, sorry boo, that’s a big, ‘Hell nah.’” Baby has been busy pumping out new music this year. JAWNY released a collaborative version of his latest single “take it back” on Friday, June 17th, linking up with none other than Beck. “Drivin’ backwards through a hole in the sun/ Hundred miles per hour and I’m feelin’ so numb/ Don’t know how I got here, there was nowhere to run/ Gotta find a way to get away from this love,” Beck croons on the track’s second verse before JAWNY picks up the fuzzed-out, chant-worthy pre-chorus: “So I, I take it back/ I take it back now/ I, I take it back/ I take it all back.” The original single was released as part of the alt upstart’s 2021 EP The Story of Hugo. “I think it’s no secret that Beck has been a giant influence on me,” the artist formerly known as Johnny Utah said in a statement. “Getting to work with him on this record was nothing short of...
Kate Bush ran all the way to No. 1. Her resurgent hit “Running Up That Hill” has officially topped the UK Singles Chart on Friday, June 17th, nearly 37 years after it was first released. As the lead single off the singer’s fifth album, Hounds of Love, the track originally peaked at No. 3 in her native UK upon its 1985 release, and then hit No. 12 when it re-entered the chart back in 2012. It now serves as Bush’s second career No. 1 in the country behind her 1978 debut single, “Wuthering Heights,” and it’s all thanks to Netflix’s Stranger Things. “I believe the Duffer Brothers have touched people’s hearts in a special way at a time that’s incredibly difficult for everyone, especially younger people,” Bush said in a statement, referencing the creators of the hit sci-fi series. “By featu...

This summer, Dawes will share their eighth studio album, Misadventures of Doomscroller. Before its release on July 22nd, the Los Angeles band has offered another preview today with the new single “Everything Is Permanent.” At nearly nine minutes, “Everything Is Permanent” gives Dawes plenty of space to push the envelope. What starts as an unassuming, yet pleasant earworm of a folk-rock number slows down into a dramatic, jazzy middle section, where vocals are replaced by an epic guitar solo. Just as you get comfortable in this mode, however, Dawes disobey the song’s title and switch things up again. In a press release, singer/guitarist Taylor Goldsmith explains that “Everything Is Permanent” refers to the fact that everything about and around us is documented in some manner. Even when thing...
