Even most Windows users would be surprised that Microsoft’s once-dominant Internet Explorer was still operational until today, but now the web browser has officially been shut down. Now out of support, Internet Explorer 11 has been pushed out in favor of Microsoft Edge after nearly 27 years in existence. Microsoft first announced IE would be retired in May 2021, revealing June 15th, 2022 to be its expiration date. “Not only is Microsoft Edge a faster, more secure, and more modern browsing experience than Internet Explorer, but it is also able to address a key concern: compatibility for older, legacy websites and applications,” the company wrote in a blog post. Starting today, the few stragglers who still use Internet Explorer (yes, apparently they exist) will be redirected to Edge. IE...

Despite recent rumors that Amber Heard has been cut from Aquaman 2, a new report from Variety confirms that the actress will not, in fact, be recast in the sequel. While rumors swirled that Heard — who plays Princess Mera in the franchise — was set to be replaced by Nicole Kidman in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, a spokesperson disputed the reports in a statement, saying, “The rumor mill continues as it has from day one — inaccurate, insensitive and slightly insane.” False reports of Heard’s firing come after a jury found the actress guilty of defaming her ex-husband, Johnny Depp. Heard wrote a Washington Post op-ed in 2018 in which she described herself as a victim of abuse, and Depp claimed that the story — which never mentioned him by name — damaged his career. John Hinckley Jr., who shot President Ronald Reagan and three other men in an unhinged bid to impress Jodie Foster, will not be performing in Brooklyn after all. The venue, Market Hotel, has released a lengthy statement calling their decision to host Hinckley “stunt booking” and suggesting that such a performance would be inappropriate in our current “dangerously radicalized, reactionary climate.” Hinckley was released into the custody of his mother in 2016 after spending 34 years in institutional psychiatric care. Today, June 15th, he became free of court restrictions for the first time since his 1981 arrest. He was set to celebrate on his “Redemption Tour,” which included a sold-out stop in Brooklyn on July 8th. “If we were going to host an event for the principle, and potentia...

What can’t Kevin Parker do? The decorated record producer and Tame Impala frontman, whose band is currently on their “Slow Rush” tour, recently stopped in Spain for back-to-back performances at Barcelona’s Primavera Sound festival. But on Friday, June 3rd, he stopped by Nitsa Club for a rare solo DJ set. One of the oldest and most iconic clubs in Barcelona, Nitsa is almost 80 years old and had previously operated an amusement park on its grounds. After the room was converted to a club in 1993, it went on to host many of the most illustrious artists in electronic music history, like Aphex Twin, Carl Craig and SBTRKT. Parker took to Tame Impala’s Instagram account to share a carousel of videos from the night. Rocking out to classics like ABBA...
