Following Argentina’s World Cup win, Lil Baby dropped his new music video for “The World Is Yours To Take” with Tears for Fears, which features clips from stadiums in Doha, Qatar, juxtaposed with high-energy moments from matches throughout the tournament. The visual, helmed by Director X, sees Lil Baby performing live, exploring stadiums, driving boats and enjoying life on the beach. Artists including Argentinian rapper Paulo Londra and Brazilian musician Papatinho, both of whom performed during the World Cup’s celebrations, appear in the video, too. “I’m by far one of the hardest workers / Real firm believer in ‘Practice make perfect,’” Baby raps on the track. “You can gather all the water, stay thirsty / Took a lot to get us here, we broke curses.” “I’m excited to make history with Budwe...
“I’m going to be singing this whole time, so get ready,” one attendee laughingly declared to her neighboring seatmates at Stevie Wonder’s annual House Full of Toys Benefit Concert. But not to worry. Wonder and his guests — including Gregory Porter, Trombone Shorty and Jody Watley — had everyone inside Los Angeles’ sold-out Microsoft Theater singing and dancing along to each and every note Saturday evening (Dec. 17). Just Wonder playing a few notes on his harmonica in the wings before walking onstage with the evening’s musical director/longtime friend Rickey Minor was enough to send the audience into a cheering frenzy even before the concert got underway. House Full of Toys, presented through Wonder’s nonprofit We Are You Foundation, benefits children, people with disabili...
HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Jason Armond / Getty Kelsey Harris has some explaining to do. Although in recent court proceedings she essentially said her memory is fuzzy, in a deposition that was played in court, Megan Thee Stallion’s former friend says she saw Torey Lanez shooting at the Texas rapper. Reports TMZ: As you know, Kelsey has been hesitant, to say the least, to give up many details while testifying this week, but on Friday prosecutors played audio of the entire interview she did with cops earlier this year … when she spilled every detail from that July 2020 night. A draft of the letter was published on Thursday by Axios, and it uses the latest “Ha”e and Harassment in Online Games from the Anti-Defamation League as its source. Lizzo sleighed the Christmas episode of Saturday Night Live, hosted by Elvis star Austin Butler. On SNL’s last episode before 2023, not a flute was stirring for her performance of “Break Up Twice,” from this summer’s Special, and her rendition of Stevie Wonder’s “Someday at Christmas.” Twitter users quickly noted the singer’s nod to painter Annie Lee’s iconic self-portrait “Blue Monday” at the onset of her first song, while her flashy gold-and-silver ensemble for the latter positioned her perfectly as the gift that keeps on giving. Elsewhere in the episode, Lizzo appeared in a Please Don’t Destroy sketch with Butler. Watch below. Billie Eilish, who turns 21 on Sunday (Dec. 18), achieved more before reaching legal age than, well, just about anybody. She set records at awards shows and on the Billboard charts that are likely to stand for many years. It has logged 246 weeks on the chart, longer than any other Eilish title. Eilish was 16 in June 2018 when she hit the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time with “Lovely,” a collab with another talented young artist, Khalid (then 20). Eilish’s success has truly been global.
