Kanye West—now known as Ye—and the Game have teamed up for numerous collaborations over the years. They’ve teamed up for 2005’s “Crack Music,” 2007’s “Wouldn’t Get Far,” 2012’s “Jesus Piece,” and 2015’s “Mula.” Now, they extend their history with another new single. Listen to “Eazy” below. PETA Is Not Too Happy With Ye’s Use of a Skinned Monkey for Upcoming Track
PETA is not too happy about the cover art used in Ye and The Game‘s upcoming track “EASY.” Teased on Kanye West‘s Instagram account with the caption, “MY LIFE WAS NEVER EASY” a skinned monkey against a red background can be seen — the art is from Nick Knight’s a Study in physiology, form, philosophy and death. Kanye West and The Game released a new song on Friday called “Eazy,” alongside graphic artwork of a skinned monkey. The track features a signature monotone beat that Ye has become known for, alongside a sample of a woman singing the word “easy.” “Mr. Narcissist, tell me about my arrogance / No more counseling, I don’t negotiate with therapists,” West, who changed his name to Ye last year, raps on the track. Blackie Lawless has shot down Chris Holmes‘s claim that the guitarist was “screwed” out of receiving royalties on the W.A.S.P. albums that he performed on. Holmes joined W.A.S.P. in 1982 and remained with the group until 1990. In 1996, the guitarist returned to W.A.S.P. and stayed with the band until 2001. Chris has not played with W.A.S.P. since. Lawless discussed Holmes‘s tenure with W.A.S.P. in a new interview with SiriusXM‘s “Trunk Nation”. MAX CAVALERA Doesn’t Know Yet Who Will Play Second Guitar On SOULFLY’s Upcoming U.S. Tour
SOULFLY mainman Max Cavalera says that he doesn’t know yet who will play second guitar for the band when it launches its U.S. tour next month. The 35-date trek will kick off on February 7 in Las Vegas, Nevada and make stops in Seattle, Minneapolis, Nashville, and Baton Rouge, among other cities, before concluding in Gallup, New Mexico on March 19. Joining SOULFLY on select dates will be 200 STAB WOUNDS. In August, SOULFLY parted ways with longtime guitarist Marc Rizzo due to personal differences.
