Today, Netflix has announced Murderville, a six-episode comedy series starring Will Arnett as Terry Seattle, a senior homicide detective who enlists the help of some celebrity guests. The catch? The guest stars don’t have a script. Based on the BBC series Murder in Successville, the show will feature Annie Murphy (Schitt’s Creek), Conan O’Brien, Ken Jeong, Kumail Nanjiani, Marshawn Lynch (of NFL fame), and Sharon Stone. A lawsuit alleging that Nirvana’s Nevermind artwork constitutes child pornography has been revived after it was dismissed by a California federal judge last week, Rolling Stone reports and documents viewed by Pitchfork confirm. Spencer Elden, who is now 30 but was a baby when his naked photo was featured on the album cover, filed a second amended complaint on Wednesday (January 12). The case had been dismissed after Elden’s team missed a December 30 deadline to respond to the Nirvana team’s motion for dismissal. Elden has now met the January 13 deadline to adjust the lawsuit. Brooklyn’s Bossa Nova Civic Club Closes Indefinitely Following Building Fire
Bossa Nova Civic Club, a Brooklyn hub for dance and electronic music, has announced that it’s closing indefinitely following a fire on the third floor of the building that houses the venue. Though the fire did not affect the first-floor space, efforts to extinguish the blaze resulted in significant water damage. “It’s safe to say we will be closed for a notable amount of time. We will update soon,” the club wrote in an Instagram story. As Resident Advisor notes, the fire was reported on Wednesday (January 12) at around 9 p.m. via Citizen. According to reports, one tenant was seriously injured, and another tenant’s dog died as a result of the fire. Friends of Bossa Nova Civic Club have started a GoFundMe to support the establishment and its staff in the meantime.
