Immersive and spatial audio are becoming the next step forward in audio. Trance group Above & Beyond have now teamed up with Amazon Music to share remixes in Dolby Atmos’ spatial audio format. Reworked tracks include “Almost Home,” “Screwdriver,” and “1995” by gardenstate. When listening to the album, take note of how various synths and percussive instruments are placed in the mix. The percussion seems larger, synths have more room to move amongst the melodies, and time-based effects (like delay and reverb) fill in the space much more fluidly, giving the tracks a totally new feel. One of the electronic music scene’s most cherished melodic dubstep producers has released his first album in over 10 years. On Christmas Day, Home, the long-awaited third album from Blackmill, finally arrived. The quiet producer did not launch any grandiose marketing campaigns or TikTok challenges to promote his new release, a serendipitous and unexpected drop for many. Despite being an extremely influential producer with millions and millions of streams, Blackmill chose to share updates on the progress of the album through scarce tweets and notes to fans in the captions of his YouTube videos. Despite its subtle release, Home is anything but. Blackmill picked up right where he left off with enchanting soundscapes and nostalgic production that tell a vivid and endearing story. Th...

After KISS bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons bought a nearly 11,000-square-foot estate in Henderson, Nevada’s Ascaya luxury community and an adjacent half-acre lot for $10.8 million in May, he planted 137 trees on the parcel. Earlier today, the 72-year-old rocker shared video of the process to cover the adjacent vacant land with trees, saying “it was all done in two days.” Check out the clip below. Five months after buying the Southern Nevada estate, he put it on the market in October for $14.95 million, but that price came down on November 17 to $13.5 million. Among the improvements Simmons made to the Las Vegas house is installing all new floors and ripping up wall-to-wall carpeting in some of the rooms. Speaking to TMZ about his decision to sell the home only five months a...
TRIUMPH guitarist/vocalist Rik Emmett spoke to Dr. Music about his upcoming memoir and how it will compare to the band’s documentary, “Triumph: Rock & Roll Machine”, which recently premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival. Rik said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “People are gonna get the memoir. Is it gonna be warm and happy and fuzzy? Ehhh… I think they’re gonna get real Rik Emmett, so they’re gonna get some truth that might hurt, or that they might go, ‘Ooooh, shit. I didn’t realize that he was like that. I didn’t realize Rik was that kind of guy.’ But I’m not afraid anymore to speak truth. What am I saving it for? [Laughs]” He continued: “I was doing an interview the other day talking ab...

Ted Nugent says that he hasn’t been inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame because the people that run the organization are “dishonest” and “rotten.” The conservative rocker, who been eligible for the honor as a solo artist since 2000, has enjoyed a remarkably successful and eventful musical career over the past five decades, but his music is increasingly overshadowed by his political outbursts. Asked in a recent interview with Ruben Mosqueda of KNAC.COM why we have yet to see him in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, Nugent responded: “Why am I not in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame? That has a lot to do with the fact that you can’t always explain why people are rotten. Why do some people violate other people and commit vicious crimes and lie? &...

Rush are the latest legendary rock band to get their own pinball machine. Stern Pinball announced that their first machine of 2022 will be themed around the iconic prog act, sharing a short teaser video featuring a list of featured songs. Most importantly, the video reveals at least 17 songs that will be featured in the new game — a large playlist compared to other band-themed pinball machines. Fans and players will hear classic tracks such as “Tom Sawyer,” “Spirit of the Radio,” and “Limelight” alongside deeper cuts like “Subdiv...
