In a new interview with Rock Titan TV, BLACK VEIL BRIDES singer Andy Biersack spoke about what it’s been like for him and his bandmates to return to playing live shows during the pandemic. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “The weird stuff, the new restrictions and all that stuff, it maybe took a day or two before you just go, ‘Okay, this is what it is.’ And then you’re just on tour. And all the restrictions and the constant testing and all that stuff just becomes part of your day on tour. So for me, you kind of block out the part that remembers life before touring was like this, and to me, this is just what touring is. Anything you’ve gotta do to be able to get out there and see the fans and to sing with people, it just is everything. We all...

Coverdale, who turned 70 in September, recently opened up about his plans to retire from touring after the band’s next batch of concerts around the world, telling the “Appetite For Distortion” podcast: “I planned to retire on the 2020 tour when I was 69. I thought that was the perfect age for the singer of WHITESNAKE to call it a day. But sadly, it was not to be, as we know; other events were in store. So now the t-shirt designs don’t resonate as well for 70. But it’s mind-blowing to me that I’m preparing my farewell tour. And it is — make no mistake, this is the farewell ...

A Congressional committee has launched an investigation into Astroworld promoter Live Nation and its role in the deadly crowd surge that left 10 people dead and hundreds more injured. The House Oversight and Reform Committee sent a letter to Michael Rapino, president and CEO of Live Nation Entertainment, Inc., requesting information on what led up to the November 5 event and the organizer’s subsequent response. “Recent reports raise serious concerns about whether your company took adequate steps to ensure the safety of the 50,000 concertgoers who attended Astroworld Festival,” the committee members wrote. Reports cited in the letter suggest that security and medical staff were “inexperienced or ill-equipped to deal with mass injuries,” the placement of the barricades made it difficult for ...
Iconic American author Joan Didion has died at 87 from Parkinson’s disease, The New York Times reports. Didion became most well known and regarded for her nonfiction which often blurred the lines between journalistic feature and personal essay. For her 1968 collection Slouching Towards Bethlehem, she covered musicians like Joan Baez, Janis Joplin, and more. Over the course of her career, Didion published five novels, six screenplays, and many more works of nonfiction. Her most recent, South and West: From a Notebook, came out in 2017. Another collection of essays, Let Me Tell You What I Mean, was issued earlier this year. Didion was also the subject of a Netflix documentary about her life and work, titled Joan Didion: The Center Will Not Hold. Joan Didion was born in Sacramento, California...
A lawyer for Nirvana has formally responded to a lawsuit regarding the band’s Nevermind artwork, as Billboard notes. The motion to dismiss was filed yesterday (December 22) in a California federal court. In the filing, the lawyer argues that plaintiff Spencer Elden’s claims are “barred by the applicable statute of limitations.” In addition, the lawyer writes, “Elden’s claim that the photograph on the Nevermind album cover is ‘child pornography’ is, on its face, not serious.” Spencer Elden filed the lawsuit on August 24, accusing Nirvana of violating federal pornography laws and also accusing them of exploitation. The surviving members of Nirvana (Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic), the estate of Kurt Cobain, Courtney Love, photographer Kirk Weddle, the labels that released Nevermind, and othe...

In the lull before Christmas really gets into gear, Sony has delivered a new trailer for what it hopes will be a new action-adventure franchise, starring its very own Spider-Man. Uncharted features Tom Holland as a young Nathan Drake, who gets swept up in a treasure hunt by his new partner Victor “Sully” Sullivan (Mark Wahlberg). The new trailer expands upon the first one by showcasing Nathan and Sully’s meet-cute, followed by them getting into some puzzle-solving adventures with a young woman named Chloe (Sophia Ali), who will presumably have more than one line of dialogue in the actual film (unlike this trailer). The hard sell here is the chemistry between Holland and Wahlberg, and to the trailer’s credit it does look like a lot of fun is in store there. Plus, for those who have missed t...
