Ghost frontman Papa Emeritus IV threw out the first pitch today (September 22) at the White Sox game in Chicago. The band is currently on tour after releasing its fifth studio album, Impera, in March, and after performing Wednesday night in Peoria, Illinois, the vocalist found himself at Guaranteed Rate Field in Chicago, where the White Sox played the Cleveland Guardians. Watch video of Papa Emeritus IV’s pitch below. Impera isn’t the only recent success that Ghost have been celebrating. Earlier this week, the band’s 2019 song “Mary on a Cross” skyrocketed onto the Billboard Hot 100 after gaining traction on TikTok in original and edited versions. While six of the band’s albums have made it onto the Billboard 200 albums chart, “Mary on a Cross” is Ghost’s first entry on the Billboard Hot 1...
Red Hot Chili Peppers have shared another new song from their forthcoming album Return of the Dream Canteen. The latest cut is titled “Eddie,” following the earlier single “Tippa My Tongue.” The song nods to the late Eddie Van Halen, who died in October 2020, with Anthony Keidis singing, “It’s only 1983/Please don’t remember me/For what I did with David/You know I’m talking David Lee.” (David Lee Roth acrimoniously departed Van Halen in 1985 after the release of the band’s sixth album, 1984.) Check out “Eddie” below. Return of the Dream Canteen, which arrives on October 14, is the second album from the California outfit this year, following April’s Unlimited Love. Both albums feature contributions from guitarist John Frusciante, who rejoined the band in late 2019 after a 10-year hiat...

Following his heart and continuously challenging the electronic music status quo, Armin van Buuren has released “Live On Love.” After employing an array of AI tech for the techno smash “Computers Take Over The World” and even releasing a guided meditation earlier this summer, it seemed no ground was left untouched for the “A State of Trance” creator. But van Buuren’s latest endeavor finds him linking up a legendary songwriter, Diane Warren, to produce a rare and poignant love song. While van Buuren has worked with countless high-profile artists over the course of his storied career, “Live On Love” is perhaps one of his biggest. Having penned nine #1 hits and 32 Top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100—including Celine Dion’s “Because You Lo...

For our favorite new songs from emerging artists, check out our Spotify New Sounds playlist. This week, GloRilla and Cardi B join forces for a hard-hitting collab. Cardi B has always been a generous collaborator, and now she’s hopped on the remix for fast-rising Memphis rapper GloRilla’s hard-hitting track, “Tomorrow.” The two artists are a natural fit, with aggressive rapping styles and the ability to tear through sparse beats based on shit-talking and charisma alone.
