Future’s production company, Freebandz Productions, and Sony Music have settled a lawsuit filed over his eighth studio album High Off Life. The suit was filed in October 2020 by High Off Life LLC, a clothing company based in Atlanta. In the lawsuit, the LLC alleges that “overnight, defendants destroyed HOL’s investment of many years and many thousands of dollars into building consumer recognition,” Billboard reported. The company is owned by independent music artist Z. Rich, who started his clothing company in 2009. He alleges that he’s been using the name for years to sell branded merchandise. Although Sony attempted to have the lawsuit dismissed early last year, a U.S. judge ruled that both sides had to be able to present their argument before he determined the suit proceedings. “Given t...
Some Britney Spears fans seem convinced that something is not quite right in a new picture featuring the singer on Paris Hilton‘s Instagram feed. Hilton shut down the “ridiculous” rumors herself in a comment on Saturday (Jan. 7). In a post on Friday, Hilton shared several photos from friend Cade Hudson’s birthday party, most of which she says were taken on an iPhone. One picture had longtime friends Spears and Hilton posing with the guest of honor. Comments included followers saying “That is not Britney” and leaving theories like “It’s really strange how half the necklace chains are missing in the photo with Britney. And what’s wrong with her fingers?” Another person wrote, “Is that an AI Britney?? Look at her fingers!!! WTF Paris? You’re becoming more and more shady to me and I used to lo...

Alex G showcased his new album God Save the Animals with performances of “Runner,” “Miracles,” and “Early Morning Waiting” on this weekend’s episode of CBS Saturday Morning. Watch below. Alex G always has an otherworldly quality to his releases, so it’s a treat to watch him and his band perform a pretty straightforward set in the CBS studio. For instance, the singer’s voice isn’t modulated in the “I have done a couple bad things” refrain in single “Runner” — instead, he makes up for his plain delivery with a particularly intense scream in between verses. Meanwhile, “Miracles” maintains Alex G’s love for violin, and “Early Morning Waiting” sees the artist switch from acoustic guitar to keyboard. The prolific singer-songwriter has been on somewhat of a tour of studio sessions lately. In Dece...
Nicolas Cage recently relived many of his iconic film roles in the meta action-comedy, The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent. One such scene saw Cage spoof the ending to Face/Off, the 1997 John Woo sci-fi action thriller co-starring John Travolta. As it turns out, Cage has been approached about making an actual sequel to Face/Off, and went as far to reveal that the film’s prospective plot would involve his and Travolta’s characters’ children. “I think Face/Off is a sequel that lends itself to a lot of twists and turns and unpredictability,” Cage said in an interview with Collider. “It’s almost like if you factor in the idea of offspring and Castor (Cage) and Sean (Travolta) having children and these children grow up, then it becomes like three-dimensional chess, and then it’s not just th...

Nick Cave wants to write a new album with the Bad Seeds this year – or at least he’s said as much in his recent newsletter, the Red Hand Files. “This is both good news and bad news. Good news because who doesn’t want a new Bad Seeds record? Bad news because I’ve got to write the bloody thing,” revealed Cave. “I started the process at 9am on January 1st. It is now January 6th – nearly a week has passed and I’ve written a few things but they aren’t very good, or maybe they are, it’s difficult to tell. A kind of doldrums has set in, perennial and predictable.” It’s been four years since Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds released a new album. Ghosteen came out in 2019, and they followed it up with B-Sides & Rarities (Part II) in 2021. Cave has stayed busy with solo work since then, collaborati...
If music were water, Colorado would never run dry. It’s no secret that the state is a hub for electronic music. And its most iconic concert venue, Red Rocks Amphitheatre, is its biggest purveyor. Celebrated for its natural acoustics, which are made possible by two giant monoliths flanking the amphitheater, the open-air venue is one of those ineffable places that consistently manufactures “you had to be there” moments. Ergo, only those who have attended an electronic dance music show at Red Rocks can experience their energy and vouch for how special they are. NGHTMRE performs at Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre.
