Choir of Young Believers’ Jannis Noya Makrigiannis Dies at 39

Jannis Noya Makrigiannis, the founder and core member of Choir of Young Believers, died late last month, a representative from Ghostly International confirms. The Copenhagen-based artist had been through a short period of illness, according to a statement. Makrigiannis was 39 years old. Formed in Copenhagen in the mid-2000s, Choir of Young Believers achieved swift acclaim in Denmark for Makrigiannis’ intimately orchestrated, ready-to-burst compositions, with influences ranging from Hank Williams to Prince. Multiple People Shot and Injured During French Montana Video Shoot in Miami

Multiple people were shot and injured on Thursday night (January 5) during an apparent video shoot for French Montana, local outlets NBC 6 and CBS 4 report. According to the reports, the inciting altercation had started in a different location and ended with the shooting in the parking lot of a restaurant called the Licking, where Montana had been filming. In a statement to CNN, the Licking said, “We were not aware of a video being filmed and found out last [minute] French Montana was shooting a scene in the back parking lot. We have no idea what actually took place. Stranger Things Cast Gets Huge Pay Bump Ahead of Final Season

The cast of Stranger Things has received a huge pay bump ahead of the show’s fifth and final season. According to Matthew Belloni of Puck News, as Stranger Things features 20 series regulars, Netflix created four separate tiers with which to negotiate. The first tier, comprised of adult actors Winona Ryder and David Harbour, will receive $9.5 million. The second tier, consisting of original kid actors Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, and Finn Wolfhard, as well as Sadie Sink, will earn just over $7 million. 10 People Shot on Set of French Montana Music Video

10 people were shot on the set of a French Montana music video on January 6th in Miami Gardens, Florida, according to local outlet WSVN. Police and firefighters responded to reports of a shooting outside of the soul food restaurant The Licking just before 8:00 p.m. ET. According to Miami Gardens Police Department detective Diana Gourgu, guns were discharged at three different crime scenes, beginning at another undisclosed location and ending at The Licking. Representatives of The Licking said they were unaware that French Montana and another rapper, Rob49, had been filming a music video in their back parking lot until shortly before the incident. Burna Boy, Asake to perform at Coachella 2023

Nigerian music superstars Burna Boy and his colleague Asake would be performing at the forthcoming Coachella 2023. The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is returning this year and there is a stellar lineup of music stars. The newly published list of artistes for the music festival shows Asake and Burna Boy made the count. Asake would be performing on the first day and first weekend of the event while Burna Boy would be performing on the second day. This would be Burna Boy’s second time of rocking the Coachella stage at Indio California.
