Miley Cyrus hosted the NBC holiday special Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party last night (December 31), which found her performing alongside a cast of famous friends. During the event, she brought out Dolly Parton to perform a series of songs as duets, and she also was joined by David Byrne. Cyrus joined the Talking Heads frontman to sing “Everybody’s Coming to My House,” the lead single from his 2018 album American Utopia. She also covered the David Bowie classic “Let’s Dance” with Byrne. Both performances featured a backing band with a brass section, keyboardists, guitarists, backing vocalists, and more. Anita Pointer, the singer and longtime member of the Pointer Sisters, has died, TMZ and Rolling Stone report. A representative for the group published a statement on the Pointer Sisters’ website confirming her death. She died in Beverly Hills, California, and “was surrounded by family at the time of her death,” according to her publicist, Roger Neal. She was 74 years old. Anita Pointer was born in Oakland, California, in 1948. She was the fourth of six children and sang in the church growing up alongside her three sisters: Ruth, Bonnie, and June. Anita joined the group in 1973 after her sisters June and Bonnie found success with their early singles. Moby Releases New Album Ambient 23: Listen

Moby is starting off 2023 with the release a new album. Earlier this month, he took to social media to announce that he was finishing up a new album called Ambient 23 with a release date of January 1, and true to his word, the producer has unveiled the new album. Anita Pointer, one of four sibling singers who earned pop success and critical acclaim as The Pointer Sisters, died Saturday (Dec. 31) at the age of 74, her publicist announced. The Grammy winner passed away while she was with family members, publicist Roger Neal said in a statement. A cause of death was not immediately revealed. “While we are deeply saddened by the loss of Anita, we are comforted in knowing she is now with her daughter Jada and her sisters June & Bonnie and at peace. The musician’s passing was announced by Modest Mouse in an emotional social media post on New Year’s Eve (Dec. 31). “I don’t know a way to ease into this: Today we lost our dear friend Jeremiah. Modest Mouse co-founding member and drummer Jeremiah Green has died at the age of 45 following a brief battle with cancer.
