One Month After Escapade Music Festival, Organizers Celebrate Zero COVID-19 Cases

2021 has been marred by a revolving door of gloomy virus-related headlines, but the organizers of Escapade Music Festival have just slammed it shut.  According to the Ottawa Citizen, who reported that organizers claimed zero documented COVID-19 cases arose from this year’s festival, Escapade 2021 attracted approximately 10,000 people on each of September 4th and 5th at the Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton Park. In a move many had deemed controversial, attendees were required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. It’s a milestone worth celebrating. It was a turbulent road to the rapturous 2021 edition of Escapade, which featured headlining performances by The Chainsmokers and ILLENIUM, among other dance music superstars. Organizers were forced to postpone the even...

Coachella Files Lawsuit Against “Carchella” Auto Show Organizers

Coachella is taking legal action against a similarly named event and car show, Carchella.  The organizers of the popular California music festival claim that the automobile event is unfairly capitalizing not only on the name, but also the logos and branding. The suit also claims that Carchella’s musical elements share a significant crossover. DJ Envy, organizer of Carchella and famed radio host, has already organized two Carchella events in Atlanta and Atlantic City, with two more installments planned to be held in Detroit and Miami later this year.  Flyer promoting “Carchella,” an exotic automobile show facing a lawsuit from Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. Porter Robinson Highlights Anthony Fantano’s Infamous “Worlds” Album Review During Festival Set

If you blinked during Porter Robinson‘s captivating Second Sky festival set over the weekend, you may have just missed the electronic music artist taking a tongue-in-cheek shot at one of Worlds’ biggest critics. Years later, music reviewer Anthony Fantano, theneedledrop on YouTube, is still taking some flak from fans for scoring Robinson’s debut album a contentious 5/10 back in 2014. In that fateful review, Fantano said he wasn’t a fan of Robinon’s stylistic reset at the time, indicating he much preferred the direction of his more EDM-centric prior EP, Spitfire. Fantano has seemingly come around to Robinson’s musical stylings in more recent times, even awarding Nurture an 8/10 earlier this year. However, that didn’t stop Robinson from digging ...

To Shake Financial Woes, Tomorrowland Calls for Three Weekends of Festival Action In 2022

The organizers of Tomorrowland are making their intentions clear that they want to return bigger than ever in 2022.  After receiving an initial green light at the national level, the iconic Belgian event reeled from a last second rug-pull when local officials refused to grant organizers essential event permits in order to make their 2021 edition happen. This year marked the second consecutive cancellation of Tomorrowland due to pandemic related concerns. The festival typically draws in 400,000 attendees annually. Now facing mounting debt, Tomorrowland says it’s essential they be granted permission to host the event across three weekends in 2022. “We really have to do this to cushion the financial hangover,” Tomorrowland’s Debby Wilmsen told Het Laatst...

Just two days before its gates were to open, Imagine Music Festival has been cancelled due to severe weather conditions in Atlanta. Hurricane Nicholas made landfall this week, slamming Gulf Coast communities and bringing heavy rains to the Atlanta metropolitan area. According to Imagine organizers, who reportedly worked with meteorologists and local authorities, the remnants of the hurricane posed “an unacceptable risk of unsafe conditions” for ticket-holders and staff in Chattahoochee Hills. “We can’t even begin to describe how heartbroken we are and how much effort and dedication from our team has gone into this show,” reads a statement shared by organizers via the festival’s social media. “We are an independent organization and th...

The #UnmuteUs movement is continuing to grow in scale throughout the Netherlands after over 150,000 took to the streets in the latest round of protests. However, a silver lining has now taken shape.
