Marshmello Releases His First Persian Language Single “Lavandia” Alongside Arash

Continuing his path to global influence, Marshmello has just released his first Persian-language spoken single, “Lavandia.” Mello joined forces with Iranian artist and Persia’s Got Talent TV star Arash to make it happen.  On the production side, Marshmello perfectly curated the track’s arrangement to include Persian-inspired synths derived from authentic strings and flutes native to the region. Despite a dramatic shift for the masked superstar, the track never feels bogged down by its ambitious ideas. Listeners will quickly glean that “Lavandia” remains true to Marshmello’s dance music roots at heart, given the steady, cascading current of driving kicks and tongue drum-driven percussion. Los Angeles-based producer HVDES has dropped her EP Blood Demon Art. Reflecting her dark persona, the EP, which arrived by way of deadmau5‘s mau5trap banner, delivers brooding lyrics, bass-heavy beats, and a deeply sinister theme. Kicking things off with “Wasteland,” HVDES employs a gritty baseline with her own vocals that tell a grim tale of eyes that are “empty like a wasteland.” Next is “Jigokuzoji,” which gets its name from the 12th-century Japanese scrolls of Buddhist hell. The song lives up to its name with pounding bass elements and a plethora of intricate, spine-chilling sounds. She ties a bow on the record with “Oni,” named after a Japanese demon. The 160 BPM track provides a textured bassline, stabbing laser effects, and snarling, satanic vocals. HVDES is just getting...

HEKLER Begins Anew on Glistering New Single “One I Want” With Misdom

HEKLER is well-known for the destructive nature of his music. He has now returned alongside Misdom with “One I Want,” released today via Thrive Music. HEKLER describes “One I Want” as “a love song with ambient infectious melodies representing someone you love.” Undoubtedly, the single is a far cry from what fans are used to hearing from the Las Vegas beatsmith.
