KAYTRANADA fans can breathe a sigh of relief after the renowned Haitian-Canadian producer dropped the curtain on his first official release since last December’s award-winning album BUBBA. Teaming up with New Orleans-based singer-songwriter Lucky Daye, KAYTRANADA delivered his typically adroit production, offering up a funky masterstroke that picks up right where he left off after the release of his scintillating sophomore album back in December. Expertly balancing on the wire between nu-disco and R&B, he masterfully melts both genres into a sizzling skillet of hypnotic dance music flanked by the velvety vocal flavors of Lucky Daye. After the release of BUBBA, KAYTRANADA appeared on Apple Music’s Beats 1 and told Zane Lowe that he had already finished the...
Back in May 2020, Kygo dropped his highly-anticipated third studio album Golden Hour, which boasts features from Oh Wonder, Sasha Sloan, Zara Larsson, OneRepublic, and many more. Today, he’s released a music video for his infectious collaboration with Kim Petras, “Broken Glass,” Directed by Griffin Stoddard, the music video for “Broken Glass” portrays the lyrics quite literally, as Kim Petras dances on top of a run-down car while ash rains down from above. As the video progresses, Petras moves from the inside of the car to dancing with chains on top of it, and shots of her behind broken glass can be seen throughout. Overall, the music video takes on a decidedly darker tone than the upbeat pop hit, as shadowy red and blue hues serve as the backdrop in the major...
German duo VIZE and Kazakh producer Imanbek have both experienced a massive 2020 so far, each in their own respective ways. VIZE have churned out a handful of hits, including house smashes such as “Thank You [Not So Bad]” with Felix Jaehn and “Never Let Me Down” with Tom Gregory, further establishing their name as an EDM mainstay. Imanbek, on the other hand, has seemingly taken over the world overnight with his rework of rapper SAINt JHN’s “Roses,” which has grown into one of the most popular mainstream songs of the year. The two artists have now teamed up with Modern Talking’s very own Dieter Bohlen to put a forward-thinking spin on duo’s 1986 track “Brother Louie,” featuring vocals by Leony. Out via Ultra Music, their collaborative work on “...
2020 has been an unconventional year to say the least, so it seems fitting for the quirky duo of G-REX and TVBOO to deliver a collaboration like they have today. “Dweller” combines brilliant sound design and unexpected sonic direction, pulling from each producer’s strengths to offer up this highly anticipated track. G-REX is a familiar name in the bass and trap scene. Since garnering mass attention from 2018’s PEEKABOO collab “Babatunde,” the Detroit native has continued to evolve as a producer, as evidenced by last year’s Requiem EP. TVBOO is a newer act out of the WAKAAN community and host of TVBOO Talks, his own comical podcast that welcomes artists from around the festival circuit. Like his collaborator, he was one of t...
The first posthumous album from the late Chicago hip-hop artist Juice WRLD has arrived. The 21-track LP features previously released singles “Righteous,” “Tell Me U Luv Me” with Trippie Redd, “Life’s a Mess” with Halsey, and “Come & Go,” which was produced by Marshmello. Tucked away in the expansive project is a scintillating track by the name of “Man of the Year,” which was produced by Skrillex. The production is markedly more reminiscent of Skrillex’s time with alt-rock band From First to Last than his own electronic sound, with crunchy guitar riffs that meld seamlessly with Juice WRLD’s unique hip-punk style. Legends Never Die represents Juice WRLD’s third solo studio album. He rel...
