Cheat Codes Return with Pop-Infused Single “Heaven”

LA-based trio Cheat Codes have spent their entire career bridging the gap between pop stardom and EDM fame. With their latest offering, they’ve built the perfect connection. “Heaven” is a show of strength for Cheat Codes. The track flexes their prowess as producers, bolstering the pop-infused single with dance music elements they’ve cultivated from their numerous chart-topping hits. It tells the tale of blossoming love, with Cheat Codes elaborating that “too many times we search outside ourselves and ignore the little things that make life amazing.” While the production of this tune is superb, singer Trevor Dahl shines on his own with his immaculate vocal work. His powerful tenor tears through the bright guitar riff and subtle percussion, ...

Gesaffelstein Releases Epic Live Recording from 2019 Requiem Tour Stop in Los Angeles

Gesaffelstein‘s Requiem Tour quickly became one of the hottest tickets in dance music last year after The Dark Prince of Techno lived up to his name by assembling the darkest stage setup ever seen on stage at Coachella. Now the techno heavyweight producer has dropped a full recording of his sold out Los Angeles live set, which took hold of the Shrine Expo Hall late last year. Though the original set took place over six months ago, fans were immediately gripped by Gesaffelstein’s announcement at the beginning of this month teasing the release of the live recording.  While you may not have the visual of the stunning Vantablack stage front and center as you listen, Gesaffelstein’s set paints an image in its own right. Gesaffelstein leads listeners in...

DEMUR Makes Triumphant Return with New Single “Fight No Longer”

Two and a half years ago, DEMUR effectively tabled his music career, promising himself he was done releasing music for good.  This week DEMUR broke that promise, and he’s back with a vengeance, releasing a new single “Fight No Longer” as if he sought to channel years of pent-up energy into one explosive offering.  The passage of time hasn’t shaken DEMUR’s stylistic affinity for grungy distortion, and perhaps it’s even enhanced it. The genre-bending “Declaration” producer has effortlessly regained his stride and is up for new risk-taking, leaning into anthemic rock flavors more than ever as frenetic guitar riffs and persevering vocals fight to take center stage.  DEMUR’s comeback single has reignited fans, building anticip...

Cristina Soto Delivers Acoustic Version of Seven Lions Remix of Tritonal’s “Still With Me”

In 2012, when Seven Lions remixed Tritonal and Cristina Soto‘s breakout track “Still With Me,” it catapulted the single to what Spotify considers part of the Best Dance of the 2010s. Both the original and remix combined have raked in over 30 million plays. Soto’s angelic vocals were the driving force of the track, creating an ethereal veil that allowed the production to shine through. She’s now back to revisit the remix, delivering an acoustic mix of the global hit.  Soto channels the structure laid out by Seven Lions while still making it her own through wide-open soundscapes brought on by the lush guitar work of her brother, Rob Soto. They add even more emotion to the track by adding in strings by Haydn Vitera and bass from Omar Vallejo, two well-k...

Inspired by Japanese Culture, 9ToEarth Channel Haunting, Industrial Sound on “Kogarashi Tales”

Chilean artist Visonia and singer/songwriter Kika Stepa have been steadily releasing music under their 9ToEarth alias since early April this year. Just a few months later, the pair have unveiled their debut project Kogarashi Tales. After a stint in Japan, Stepa found herself inspired by both the chaotic city life of Tokyo and the peaceful atmosphere of the shrines and monuments scattered throughout the country. This served as the catalyst for Kogarashi Tales. Kika details that they are “very inspired by Asian culture” and that she based many ideas for the lyrics “on the idea of contrast that [she] believe[s] is a strong part of the Japanese culture.” “Kogarashi” is a Japanese word that means “winds that come before winter.” The ...

Glass Petals Drop Piano House Stomper “No Words” on HEXAGON

Along with Johnny Jover, esteemed producer and DJ Felix Cartal kicked off his Glass Petals project last year with the release of two infectious house tracks, “Pumped Up Kick” and “Burner.” Now, the duo is back with another house anthem that’s sure to keep the dance floor moving. “No Words” is a groovy house track that pays homage to classic 1990s house music and brings a refreshing feel to the music of the modern era. A catchy rhythmic vocal verse keeps the groove going, with classic piano house stabs in the buildup. The bass line is just as perfect for nodding your head along to, as it is for shuffling your heart out on the dance floor. Glass Petals is a deeper and more refined approach to Cartal’s music, which typically ...

The fluid ...

DJ Snake Officially Releases Long Sought After Trap ID, “Trust Nobody”

DJ Snake has finally released one of his most craved IDs, the hybrid trap bomb “Trust Nobody.” The single finds the Parisian powerhouse eschewing his radio-friendly moombah-pop style for his heavy-hitting sound of yesteryear. Snake had been teasing the tune at select live shows, perhaps most notably during a performance in his hometown at Paris La Défense Arena, where he unveiled it to a staggering 40,000 guests amid a massive “wall of death” in the crowd. Ever since that show, which was the largest single-day electronic dance music event in Europe, his fans had been clamoring for the ID. “Trust Nobody” features some of the most thunderous sound design Snake has produced in quite some time, with menacing vocal refrains and screeching bass patch...
