GRiZ and Big Gigantic Drop Trippy Animated Video for New Dubstep Collab, “Open Your Mind”

Let the good times roll—GRiZ and Big Gigantic have reunited for a brand new single. The two beloved electronic music acts today joined forces for “Open Your Mind,” a massive dubstep track with a reggae twist. And thanks to their signature saxophones, it’s yet another forward-thinking take on the breezy, fun-loving sound that longtime fans admire. Big Gigantic and GRiZ are longtime creative collaborators, most recently joining forces for a single on the latter’s scintillating 7th album, Rainbow Brain. Their 2015 collab “Good Times Roll” remains one of the most prized songs in each of their decorated discographies. And if comments by Big Gigantic are any indication, their collaborative chemistry hasn’t lost a beat. “GRiZ is an absolute mon...

LODATO and Janice Robinson Breathe New Life Into 90’s House Classic, “Dreamer”

After his induction into EDM.com‘s Class of 2022, LODATO is keeping his foot on the gas with “Dreamer,” teaming up with Janice Robinson to reimagine the 90’s classic. LODATO’s version of “Dreamer” beautifully pays homage to the original, which was recorded and released by Italian house music group Livin’ Joy in 1994. Robinson has lent her signature vocals, helping capture the nostalgia of “Dreamer” while providing a new-age dance feel. It’s ultimately an electrifying refresh, which moonlights as an ode to Robinson’s impact on dance music. “Growing up I loved the original ‘Dreamer’ from the ‘90s and always wanted to give it a fresh take,” LODATO said in a press st...

Kill The Noise Teams Up With Seven Lions for Stunning Single, “Without You”

Thanks to a decade-long kinship, Kill The Noise and Seven Lions have never wavered in their shared goal of challenging electronic music norms. Long revered for their ability to fluidly oscillate across the spectrum of bass music, the pair have joined forces for a new single called “Without You,” which will appear on Kill The Noise’s upcoming sophomore album EMBRACƎ. With its melodic sensibilities and progressive house backbone, it’s a stark contrast to the tandem’s 2019 collab “The Blood,” a heavy-hitting psytrance and dubstep hybrid. But the notion that “Without You” is a bit of a departure doesn’t make it any less emphatic. Julia Ross’ vocal performance in “Without You” is bot...

GRiZ and Big Gigantic to Release Reggae-Infused Dubstep Collaboration

GRiZ and Big Gigantic are once again ready to let the good times roll. The two have become a celebrated joint creative force over  the years, and following up on their recent record “Daily Routine” from GRiZ’s Rainbow Brain album, bass music’s funkiest producers are back at it. That being said, however, what’s coming next appears to be a different beast. Late last year, fans began to inquire into an ID GRiZ had begun rinsing out on tour, a track characterized by a grinding, saw-like dubstep bassline.  It’s tough to tell based on the brevity of the clip, but it’d seem GRiZ and Big Gigantic are taking their next release back to an era where reggae and dubstep were on a full collision course. Known in some circles as Reggaestep, th...

Quiet Bison Unveils Artful 30-Track Debut Album, “Dawn”: Listen

In a statement as bold as his sound design, electronic music tastemaker Quiet Bison has finally unveiled his debut album, Dawn. It’s not often that artists are able to conceptualize and engineer projects of this scope, The album spans 30 tracks, a scale that could be deemed by many as risky in today’s musical landscape. But the 20-year-old producer isn’t one to shy away from creative challenges or filter his art in any way for the sake of commercialism. Throughout Dawn, Quiet Bison masterfully displays his incredible range as an artist, juxtaposing quirky melodies and granular textures with bit-crushed bass and punchy drum programming. Ace Aura Drops Massive Melodic Riddim Single, “UMBRA”

Coming off his biggest year yet, EDM.com Class of 2021 inductee Ace Aura has tapped Voicians for a high-powered collaboration called “UMBRA.” Out now via Monstercat, “UMBRA” is Ace Aura’s signature melodic riddim style at its finest, effortlessly fusing Voicians’ heartfelt vocals with eerie sound design. Both drops are as unrelenting as it gets, painting a colorful soundscape of frenetic synths, chord-driven programming, and masterfully layered bass. Listen to Tiësto’s Intoxicating Remix of ACRAZE’s Breakout Hit, “Do It To It”

After months of teasing, Tiësto has finally unveiled his hotly anticipated remix of ACRAZE‘s global hit, “Do It To It.” Tiësto’s remix is an artful reimagining of the original from ACRAZE, who was recently named to EDM.com‘s Class of 2022. The Dutch dance music legend infused a fresh dose of his signature production into “Do It To It,” beautifully interpolating the classic Cherish lyrics with an electrifying, four-on-the-floor beat. Building on the ingenious simplicity of ACRAZE’s original, Tiësto rendition is a dancefloor filler—just like its progenitor. It’s the first official remix of the international house hit, though many artists have released their own unofficial edits, such as Zedd’s viral Squid Game ma...

Today, the high-profile collab finally hit streaming platforms. The scintillating “Redlight” features a phenomenal vocal performance from Sting, who rerecorded his lyrics from The Police’s hit 1978 song “Roxanne.” The emotive performance feels entirely new and it seamlessly coalesces with the dark, gritty sound design of modern-day Swedish House Mafia. The ambitious move to enlist Sting has paid off in spades—and “Redlight” is a must-listen. “Redlight” is the latest single from Swedish House Mafia as they prepare for the release of Paradise Again, one of the year’s most hotly anti...

More Than Just a Phase: Said The Sky Drops Nostalgic Sophomore Album, “Sentiment”

After attending high school in the early 2010s, it’s tough not to feel sentimental about Said The Sky‘s new album and the definitive new direction in his sophomore album. While it was easy to be excited about Sentiment based on its singles alone, two of which arrived immediately prior to the album’s full release, some of the album’s most surprising—and nostalgic—cuts come with the full release. Between appearances by We The Kings, Parachute, The Maine, State Champs and more, the tracklist of Sentiment oftentimes more closely resembles a Warped Tour lineup than anything else. In fact, we’re still wondering how Said The Sky managed to pull a very rare feature from Motion City Soundtrack on the wittingly self-deprecating “Blue Etern...
