Rudy Touzet Drops Breezy Remix of Breakup Anthem, “Treason”

Breathing life into his brooding single “Treason,” Rudy Touzet has unveiled a brand new remix by The Alliance. The revamped production adds another intoxicating layer to the storytelling in “Treason,” which is the track’s crown jewel. Contemplative and aching, the lyricism explores the difficulties of moving on from a deceptive relationship in the wake of betrayal. “Life can give you brand new eyes,” Touzet croons. The Alliance has now taken Touzet’s dark pop original and transported it to the dancefloor, producing a catchy rework in the best of both worlds. The new rendition does a great job of keeping the melancholic feel intact while infusing more energy, employing a brisk, four-on-the-floor rhythm and smooth vocal...

More Than Just a Phase: Said The Sky Drops Nostalgic Sophomore Album, “Sentimental”

After attending high school in the early 2010s, it’s tough not to feel sentimental about Said The Sky‘s new album and the definitive new direction in his sophomore album. While it was easy to be excited about Sentimental based on its singles alone, two of which arrived immediately prior to the album’s full release, some of the album’s most surprising—and nostalgic—cuts come with the full release. Between appearances by We The Kings, Parachute, The Maine, State Champs and more, the tracklist of Sentimental oftentimes more closely resembles a Warped Tour lineup than anything else. In fact, we’re still wondering how Said The Sky managed to pull a very rare feature from Motion City Soundtrack on the wittingly self-deprecating “Blue Eternal....

Oxlo Showcases Growth In Electrifying Single, “Get Better”

Don’t let his age fool you. Starting his music production career at the age of 12, 19-year-old Oxlo quickly began to make waves in the dance music space. He saw success early on with his striking covers of popular songs, which propelled him into the underground scenes in New York, Connecticut, and New Jersey. It was there that Oxlo was able to develop his own unique style, with the motivation to make a lasting impact on the electronic music landscape. Now, Oxlo has returned with his first song of the year, dubbed “Get Better.” Without wasting any time, he kicks off the track with an ominous bassline and spacey synths, soon followed by hypnotic vocals. The topline is dark and eerie in its sound design, as a down-pitched voice calls out, “...

But while “In The Middle” is a slight departure for Vini Vici, that doesn’t make the track any less impressive. And at a length of six minutes, it’s a journey. In fact, the barnstorming psytrance duo said that “In The Middle” is one of the most special songs of their storied career. “It is not with every release that we feel we bring something new to the table,” Vini Vici said in a joint stat...

In their bouncy future house rendition, Los Padres maintain the subtle guitar work of the original in a tip of the cap to R3HAB’s production. Then the tandem mix in a high-energy blend of elements such as warm piano chords, electrifying synths, and buzzy saws in perfect cohesion. All-in-all, it’s an anthemic, dancefloor-re...
