k?d’s come-up saw him breaking down genre boundaries and rebuilding them with his signature. And years later, it appears that appetite to continue paving new stylistic inroads remains alive and well. k?d’s new album, CAGE SCRIPT, marks his first long-form effort since 2020’s stunning Rebirth. The album sees the enigmatic producer combining elements of synth-pop, glitch, trap and future bass, among other influences. k?d’s opening charge in “Return To Nothingness” finds him melding a diverse fusion of genres together into one playfully uplifting song. While he flexes his versatility on the production side, ensuing tracks “Flow In You” and “If This Is A Dream” show k?d aligning closely with his vocalist collaborators t...

Listen to isqa’s Stunning “i 4ove you” EP, the First External Release On Rezz’s HypnoVizion Label

Before he became a mau5trap mainstay with his No Mana project, Jordan Orcaz released experimental bass tracks as isqa. In the early days of her career, a young Rezz developed a friendship with him and the duo went on to work hand-in-hand, encouraging each other to evolve their sounds. A few years after crossing paths, they worked together to release their collaborative track “Psycho” in 2017. Now, isqa has returned with a new EP, i 4ove you, the first release on Rezz’s HypnoVizion Records from someone other than its founder. The project kicks off with “mycelium faceplant,” a collaboration with fknsyd wherein the duo balance haunting vocals with distorted bass in an arrangement with tinctures of melancholy. The ensuing “flusterfuck” brings fort...

Fans of Liquid Stranger have something exciting to look forward to in 2023. The Wakaan label boss has revealed a brand new EP, Unity. The project is slated to release next year on the imprint’s SSKWAN offshoot, which specializes in downtempo electronic music. To build the hype surrounding the EP’s release, Stranger today dropped its lead single, “Smoke N Hope.” Wakaan diehards are sure to be mesmerized by this dreamy record, which weaves ragga-inspired vocals by J Lauryn with wonky drums and pulsing bass. After kicking off with a hypnotic acoustic guitar riff, the track whispers and winds before an enthralling chorus takes hold—and refuses to let go. 100 gecs Drop New EP Featuring Collaboration With Skrillex, “Torture Me”

100 gecs gave fans a double dose of excitement with the surprise release of a three-track EP and new album announcement. Over the weekend, the surging hyperpop duo dropped a three-track EP, Snake Eyes, seemingly out of nowhere. While any new music is exciting for fans, they received an extra bonus when the tracklist was revealed to include a collaboration with Skrillex. The first track, “Hey Big Man,” channels Beastie Boys for a chaotic tune that will surely perk up their already high-energy live shows. The second track, “Torture Me,” features Skrillex, which shouldn’t be too surprising since 50 of the 100 gecs, Dylan Brady, joined him (along with Noisia and josh pan) on last year’s “Supersonic (My Existence).” Together, Skrillex and 100...

Benny Benassi’s New Track “One More Night” Is a Sultry Ode to Ibiza

Legendary DJ and producer Benny Benassi knows exactly what it takes to make a smash dance hit.  His influential 2002 record, “Satisfaction,” continues to stand the test of time after the iconic electronic hit saw its 20-year anniversary. Now, Benassi has teamed up with British singer-songwriter Bryn Christopher for a must-listen track, “One More Night,” transporting fans to the idyllic beaches of the White Isle. Sultry sound design, anthemic melodies and Christopher’s stentorian vocals radiate in the new track, which doubles as an ode to Ibiza. “One More Night” is a beautiful display of Benassi’s sound, highlighted by deep brass stabs and soothing pads. “When I received the idea of this record I immediately thought a...

Damon Sharpe’s “Naughty Girl” Music Video Is a Celebration of Shuffling and Rave Culture

Nicky Romero and DubVision Join Forces for Meteoric Progressive House Track, “Stay a Little Longer”

Nostalgia hits different with Nicky Romero and DubVision.  Their new track, a collab with Philip Strand called “Stay A Little Longer,” is a blast from the past—a progressive house boomerang returning for another go ’round. Opening with delayed guitars and keys, Strand’s vocals reel us in with emotive lyrics. Blissful pads and warm bass loom in the undertones as we are progressively driven to the drop. A nostalgic synth melody plays underneath Strand’s topline until it unleashes its full might in the drop, encouraging us to stay just a little longer. Romero has been rinsing “Stay A Little Longer” in his DJ sets, like those at Ultra Japan and AMF.  He previously released “Back To Where We Started” with Afrojack and “F...
