Noel Gallagher returns today with a new song called “Pretty Boy,” the lead single from his untitled forthcoming album with his High Flying Birds. It features ex-Smiths member Johnny Marr on guitar. As Oasis’ former chief songwriter, Gallagher is already known for writing massive earworm melodies, and there’s no shortage of those on “Pretty Boy.” With Marr’s immediately-recognizable guitar jangle backing him, Gallagher seems to wrestle with his own identity and sense of self: “Can you delete my number?/ I wanna get me free/ I wanna change my star sign/ Because it don’t suit me,” he sings in the final verse. “For this new record it was the first thing I wrote, the first thing I demoed and the first thing I finished, so it’s only right that it’s the first thing people get to hear,” Gallagher ...
Sean “P. Diddy” Combs went super-method for his Halloween costume over the weekend. The hip-hop impresario slipped into a frighteningly accurate version of Heath Ledger’s Oscar-winning portrayal of the Joker from the Dark Knight series, swooning around town in his purple suit with green vest, green hair, white face paint and the character’s bloody Glasgow Smile. In classic Diddy fashion, he chronicled his transformation in a video in which he sat in a chair getting his look together and wished everyone a happy, safe Halloween followed by one in which he laughs maniacally in character while brandishing a giant fake gun as a hand grenade falls out of his pocket. “Hello my friends, I’m the Joker,” he wrote in the caption. “I’m highjacking Halloween! Hahahaha.” The fun continued in another cli...

For decades, Paxton has performed at this festival to support the environmental work of the Hudson River sloop Clearwater. The Clearwater was conceived in 1966 by Paxton’s longtime friend a...
Jennifer Coolidge definitely thought Ariana Grande‘s Halloween costume was the best in show this year. After the pop star revealed on Instagram Friday (Oct. 28) that she had dressed up as the Emmy winner’s character from the 2000 mockumentary comedy Best in Show — and even recreated some of the movie’s scenes with former Victorious costar Liz Gillies — Coolidge took a moment to share her approval. “This is f—–g great,” commented the actress, who previously made a cameo in Grande’s 2018 “Thank U, Next” music video. “I was gonna go as the young boy’s pet weasel from The Watcher, but now I think I’m gonna go as @arianagrande’s dog, Toulouse.” “@theofficialjencoolidge we thank you, we love you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” replied Grande. “And miss you so.” In her post, which was also shared to Gillies’ ac...
M.I.A. didn’t dress up over the weekend, but on Sunday afternoon (Oct. 30) the “Paper Planes” rapper posted what she said was a “scary picture for Halloween” in which she casually posed with controversial conservative commentator Candace Owens. “#FreeSpeech,” M.I.A. captioned the post — which Owens re-posted — in which she stands with a neutral look next to a smiling Owens. The outspoken conservative talker’s name was in headlines earlier this month when she appeared at Kanye West’s Paris Fashion Week show modeling one of Ye’s provocative “White Lives Matter” t-shirts. The stunt was met with widespread backlash from the supporters of the Black Lives Matter movement, especially given phrase’s ties to white supremacist and neo-Nazi groups in their response to BLM. After getting temporarily b...

On Saturday evening, October 29, Jack Harlow headed to Saturday Night Live to serve double-duty as both host and guest performer. The Louisville rapper appeared in the majority of the show’s sketches, which is unusual for hosts nowadays. Sketches largely centered on stereotypes of Southerners and Southern culture. In one bit, Harlow plays a groom at a Halloween-themed wedding, alongside Andrew Dismukes as “the Joe-ker.” Guests vote on whether the Joe-ker gets to stay, with Survivor host Jeff Probst moderating. To close off the night, Harlow fulfilled the performer portion of his duties with a mashup of his songs “Lil Secret” and “First Class,” the latter of which is one of his most popular singles to date.
