Kaytranada has made his highly-anticipated return with a new track, dubbed “Twin Flame,” featuring Anderson .Paak. The collaborative cut arrives alongside a music video directed by .Paak. For Olivia Rodrigo‘s High School Musical: The Musical: The series character, this could be the start of something new. In a new sneak peak clip from the popular Disney+ series’ latest episode shared by People, Nini Salazar-Roberts (Rodrigo) performs an emotional acoustic ballad in her backyard titled “You Never Know,” in which she sings about starting a new chapter in life as she hopes to get her big break as an artist while visiting California. “A chapter begins, the pages turn in the wind / The story’s so unpredictable / But the best is yet to come,” she sings in the track, and while she didn’t write the lyrics herself, the words mirror Rodrigo’s real-life whirlwind career following the release of the Grammy winning star’s smash 2021 hit, “drivers license,” and debut album, Sour. “Hey, hey, U.S.A./ We ain’t seen our better days.” In a divisive era with many Americans skeptical about the future of the democracy, Luke Bryan’s new single, “Country On,” is a timely elixir, a four-minute reminder of the nation’s proud middle class, its work ethic and the sense of community that comes from simply doing what they do. “When I’m onstage, and when I’m singing ‘Most People Are Good,’ I feel that most people are still that, and I feel like most Americans really support the American dream,” Bryan says. “There’s a lot of forces out there really trying to interrupt that, but the day that we wake up and feel like the United States can’t have better days, I think the whole spirit of the country is lost.” Explore Explore See latest videos, charts and news See latest videos, charts a...
Nicki Minaj used Instagram Live over the weekend to clap back at reports circulating that she owes a whopping $173 million in back taxes. In the livestream, the “Do We Have a Problem?” rapper began by fake crying before blaming the scandalous headlines on a catfish using the alias “Kate Miller,” who was pretending to be her assistant. “My assistant, y’all, they went and told everybody that … it is true how I owe a $173 million to the IRS,” a pink-haired Minaj said directly to the camera, her voice quavering with fake emotion before she burst out in laughter. “And I hooked up (her former hairstylist) Tae. Tae is so uncomfortable around the man I married ’cause he’s so, um, and Tae don’t like to be around him. And Tae was calling that assistant, begging that assistant to stop. “Y’all. Every ...

Academy Award-winning director Questlove has officially confirmed that The Roots are on track to finishing up their next album. In a recent interview with HipHopDX, the multi-faceted artist gave an official update on the Philly group’s upcoming mixtape. He told the publication, “Here’s the weird thing. In a normal world, I would’ve done this film, it would’ve came out and I would’ve promoted it for maybe eight to 12 weeks. And then, once it’s done its thing, then it’s over. And of course, a funny thing happened was that Disney’s like, ‘Hey, this is Oscar caliber.’ And I’m like, ‘Huh? You sure?’ And so, that part of my life, I didn’t plan. I mean, I’m glad it happened, but what it did do was it pushed our album back from happening. So right now, there is a very short window before I start m...
Last Friday, Beyoncé released her seventh studio album, RENAISSANCE. Since, it has broken the Spotify record for the most-streamed album in a single day by a female artist in 2022 and has caused a fair share of controversy thanks to a reported sample “theft” and for the use of an ableist word in “Heated.” Alas, RENAISSANCE’s innate passion for inspiring a groove comes with plenty of representation. It sings to the Black and queer communities, bringing people together through their shared love for, and histories with, house music via way of sampling. Now that we’ve all (hopefully) heard the album, Hypebeast has dissected each track’s core samples and dug deeper into their history – revealing how Chicago house, funk and soul, viral YouTube clips, gospel songs, New Orleans Bounce music and so...
