NAV has debuted his Travis Scott and Lil Baby-assisted cut, “Never Sleep.” Clocking in at just a little over three minutes, “Never Sleep” features production from Tay Keith, Grayson and Mike Dean and hears NAV, Scott and Lil Baby deliver a verse each. The track serves as the lead single of NAV’s upcoming album Demons Protected by Angels, and is the artist’s first lead single of the year after hopping on Vory’s “Do Not Disturb.” Demons Protected By Angels was announced in late June and will be NAV’s first release since his Emergency Tsunami mixtape in November 2020 and his first full-length studio album Good Intentions, which dropped in May of the same year. Kelis Says She Was Sampled on Beyoncé’s Renaissance Without Permission
Beyoncé’s upcoming album Renaissance, out July 29th, has a long list of famous names in its writing credits, but one name missing from the list is Kelis, who isn’t too happy about the omission. The artist says she was sampled on the album without her permission, and is calling out Beyoncé and The Neptunes — who produced the sampled song in question — for “theft.” Beyoncé’s song “Energy” samples Kelis’ 2000 track “Get Along with You,” and while The Neptunes’ Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo are credited on the album, Kelis is not.
