Consequence has revealed that JAY-Z once wanted to sign him to Roc-A-Fella Records. In a recent appearance on Drink Champs, the rapper shared that all this happened while he was still signed to Q-Tip‘s The Ummah. “I was supposed to sign to Roc-A-Fella, that was what was so ironic,” he said. “Well, not saying supposed to, but JAY was very interested in picking me up.” Consequence continued that he and JAY-Z first met in 1995 and that they “always kinda intermingled.” He added, “We never had, like, a one-to-one direct relationship, but we always kind of intermingled. Pulp’s seminal 1998 album This Is Hardcore turns 25 next year, and the band has a reunion in the works to celebrate the occasion. Jarvis Cocker said as much at a recent Q&A, teasing, “Next year Pulp are going to play some concerts!” Cocker was speaking at a Guardian-hosted talk and Q&A about his new memoir Good Pop, Bad Pop when a fan asked about a mysterious clip the Pulp frontman posted to Instagram on July 20th. Marvel has delivered the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Prologue EP shortly after releasing the trailer of the highly-anticipated sequel at Comic-Con 2022. Clocking in at under 10 minutes, the three-track project is produced by Ludwig Göransson and features Tems‘ rendition of Bob Marley and the Wailers’ “No Woman No Cry”,” Amaarae’s “A Body, A Coffin” and Santa Fe Klan’s “Soy.” The composer called the EP “an aural first glimpse of Wakanda Forever” in a statement, adding: “The sound world for the film began with extended trips to Mexico and Nigeria.
