Depeche Mode Reveal Andy Fletcher’s Cause of Death

One month after the passing of Depeche Mode founding member and keyboardist Andy Fletcher, the band has shared the cause of death at the request of his family. “Andy suffered an aortic dissection while at home on May 26,” wrote Martin Gore and Dave Gahan in a statement. “So, even though it was far, far too soon, he passed naturally and without prolonged suffering.” The statement continued, “We had a celebration of Andy’s life in London last week, which was a beautiful ceremony and gathering with a few tears, but filled with the great memories of who Andy was, stories of all of our times together, and some good laughs. Rob Zombie has unveiled an animated music video for the song “Shake Your Ass-Smoke Your Grass” from his 2021 album, The Lunar Injection Kool Aid Eclipse Conspiracy. The wild clip comes ahead of Zombie’s co-headlining US tour with Mudvayne. The month-long outing, featuring support from Static-X and Powerman 5000, kicks off July 20th in Maryland Heights, Missouri, and wraps up August 21st in The Woodlands, Texas, with tickets available via Ticketmaster. The original Alice Cooper band’s 2015 reunion show, titled Live from the Astroturf, is getting a physical and digital release on September 30th. The October 2015 performance is the stuff of legend and subject of the documentary of the same name. Record store owner and superfan Chris Penn invited the original band — dissolved since 1974 — to play a show at his Good Records in Dallas.
