Bruce Hornsby has enlisted Danielle Haim on his new single “Days Ahead.” “Remember how we used to be/ Connection that our friends could see/ Remember when we tried to learn German/ I told you what I learned today/ That this all too shall pass away/ It sounded like a stale, stale sermon,” the two sing, with the Haim frontwoman mostly on backing vocals, before jumping into the track’s chorus. The song’s music video was self-directed by Hornsby during the pandemic. The lyrical narrative plays out with a feuding older couple who call an elaborate dollhouse home. Related Video “Days Ahead” is featured on the singer-songwriter’s new album ‘Flicted, which also dropped today in full via Hornsby’s very own Zappo Productions/Thirty Tigers. The 12-track LP follows 2019’s Absolute Zero and 2020’s Non-...
Maneskin unveiled their latest single, “Supermodel,” on May 13, and members Damiano David, Ethan Torchio and Thomas Raggi recently sat down with Billboard to discuss the meaning behind their ode to Los Angeles’ clout-chasing culture. The song, which features lyrics such as “When you’re not looking, she’s stealing your Basquiat/ Low-waisted pants on OnlyFans, I’d pay for that,” was inspired by living in L.A. for a long period of time, which frontman David says felt like “a mix of emotions.” Explore Explore See latest videos, charts and news See latest videos, charts and news “What shocked us was there’s a lot of people who only try to get something from others and they want to be at the top of the spots and under the spotlight,” he explains. “But then you see that they’re playing a characte...

Now, Umi wants you to find your healing. More importantly, she wants you to want that for yourself. With the release of her debut album, Forest in the City, which she released on May 26, Umi’s here to help blaze that trail. Chance the Rapper on Friday dropped off his latest multi-medium visual for “A Bar About a Bar,” which sees Chicago painter Nikko Washington creating the single’s artwork on canvas. A press release states that Washington’s piece is inspired by “Abar, the First Black Superman’s unorthodox, Afro-futuristic, and surrealist depiction of racial inequality, racial integration and classism in the suburbs of white America,” according to Stereogum. Elsewhere in the video, which is directed by Chance himself, the rapper works on several writing exercises with Vic Mensa, who he previously collaborated with on last month’s “Wraith (Writing Exercise #3).” Washington’s painting, which also dons the name “A Bar About a Bar,” will be showing at the Art Institute of Chicago this weekend. “Full circle moment...
Aside from his recent link-up with UK rap veteran Joe Grind on “That’s How You Feel,” it’s been roughly a year since Novelist supplied fans with new music. Now today, the Lewisham-born rapper is celebrating his latest project entitled 4 Tha Homiez. In many ways, the 10-tracker is an inheritor to the energy and swagger heard on previous drops, although there’s a focus on West Coast rap this time around. Thanks to production from Novelist himself, and close collaborators Prem and SusTrapperazzi, the trio has compiled a selection of ‘G Funk’ records with the through...
