Watch Eddie Vedder Talk Unity & Climate Change With Astronauts in Space

April 22 is Earth Day, and in celebration, Pearl Jam‘s Eddie Vedder teamed up with NASA to interview the crew aboard the International Space Station. In the nearly three-minute clip uploaded on Friday (April 22), the rocker asks the astronauts what lessons they recommend to us on Earth. “One of the lessons learned is that there’s no borders up here,” astronaut Raja Chari replied. “It’s actually surprisingly hard to figure out where you’re at over the Earth because it’s all land and water. There’s no recognizable lines. For us, it’s a great reminder that we’re all on one Earth, working together.” Explore See latest videos, charts and news See latest videos, charts and news Fellow astronaut Thomas Marshburn added, “Living with so many nationalities up here, we discover that we...

Liam Gallagher Welcomes “Better Days” with New Single: Stream

Liam Gallagher is here to lift your spirits with “Better Days,” the latest preview of his forthcoming solo album C’MON YOU KNOW. The former Oasis frontman’s new single arrives today with an accompanying music video. “Better Days” feels like a natural progression for Gallagher, evoking the thrill of ’90s arena rock while cloaking it in a modern sheen. Switching between mellow verses and a bombastic, soaring chorus, the Britpop icon urges you to see the light. “If you’re lost, I’ll find you there/ With the sunlight in your hair/ And the sadness washed away by the rain,” he sings just before the breakneck drums come in. The music video for “Better Days” channels a similar nostalgia. Tuned-in Oasis fans might notice the parallels between this rooftop location and the set used in the ...

Primus Share Conspiranoid EP, Their First New Project in Five Years: Stream

Today, funk-metal icons Primus have returned with the three-track EP Conspiranoid. Out now via ATO Records, it marks the band’s first new body of work in five years. Stream Conspiranoid on Apple Music or Spotify below. Conspiranoid includes the whopping 11-minute epic “Conspiranoia,” which Consequence premiered earlier this month. “I’d been itching to record an opus — basically a long, winding, bastard of a song, reminiscent of some of the compositions I cut my teeth (or ears) on, in my music-hungry adolescence,” frontman Les Claypool explained. He continued: “‘Conspiranoia’ was sprouted from a seed I had planted in my notebook a year or so ago — a few lines commenting on the mental state of the contemporary world.” Meanwhile, the EP’s other two tracks, “Follow the Fool” and “Eri...

Neko Case Shares New Song “Oh, Shadowless”: Stream

Neko Case has a new retrospective compilation out today. Alongside 22 past favorites, Wild Creatures boasts a brand new song called “Oh, Shadowless.” Take a listen below. “Oh, Shadowless” begins as a gentle waltz, with chiming guitars and Case’s sweet vocals swirling together in a genial lullaby. Before long, however, a barrage of feedback and drums break the spell, revealing a sense of foreboding hiding under the surface. It makes sense, then, that Case’s main refrain is “Sandman is coming, but he’s taking too long.” The single comes with a charming stop-motion music video directed by Laura Plansker, and its furry characters can’t seem to get a peaceful night’s sleep, either. Consequence caught up with Case to gain some insight on her new single, and to look back on her 25-year caree...

Song of the Week: The Smile Embrace Dramatic Balladry on “Free In the Knowledge”

Song of the Week breaks down and talks about the song we just can’t get out of our head each week. Find these songs and more on our Spotify Top Songs playlist. For our favorite new songs from emerging artists, check out our Spotify New Sounds playlist. This week, The Smile unleash a devastating, melancholy rumination on living with the consequences of the world around us.  It’s as if Thom Yorke decided about a decade ago to commit himself to releasing some of the most devastating music of his career — which is kind of like a Carolina Reaper deciding to be spicier, or the Mariana Trench deciding that it’s not quite deep enough. There’s “Dawn Chorus” from his 2019 solo record ANIMA, “Unmade” from the Suspiria soundtrack, and pretty much everything off of Radiohead’s ...

Scott Weiland’s Son Noah on Comparisons to His Father: “People Want to See Me Be a Statistic”

A year and a half ago, Suspect208 looked like they might just be the next big thing. The young band was fronted by Noah Weiland (son of late Stone Temple Pilots singer Scott Weiland), and also featured London Hudson (son of Slash) on drums, Tye Trujillo (son of Metallica’s Robert Trujillo) on bass, and Niko Tsangaris on guitar. Unfortunately, it all fell apart for the group just months after getting off the ground. After showing promise in late 2020 with their first two singles, “Long Awaited” and “All Black,” the band announced in early 2021 that they had parted ways with Noah, citing his “dark path of drug use.” They attempted to continue with new singer Cody Houston, but eventually broke up completely soon thereafter. In a new interview with iHeartRadio, Noah opened up about his ouster ...

Following his tour announcement with Wiz Khalifa earlier this month, Logic on Friday dropped off two fresh tracks, dubbed “Tetris” and Decades.” The former single arrives with an accompanying music video, which was directed, shot and edited by JT Celemente. The two singles, which mark the rapper’s first major drop since the release of Bobby Tarantino III last year, will likely appear on Logic’s forthcoming album, Vinyl Days. The record, which will land as the artist’s seventh studio album, is expected to be released in June. Ahead of the two tracks’ side-by-side debut, Logic took to Instagram to call out his record label Def Jam for allegedly “f****** up” the release. “What the f*** is going on, man?” he said in a video. “I told Def Jam I wanted to release my s*** as a two-p...
