City Girls return today with the new single “Top Notch,” a team-up with New York rapper Fivio Foreign. On the track, the duo of Yung Miami and JT blend their classic Southern hip-hop charm with the thundering grit of New York City drill rap. Like all good things City Girls, “Top Notch” is unapologetically braggadocious, as Yung Miami and JT flaunt their wealth and high status: “I’m the baddest bitch on your newsfeed,” JT spits over a track by British producer AXL Beats. “Y’all gossiping, but who the news feed?/ I’m in the sky box, you in the nose bleeds/ Fly bitches need privacy.” Meanwhile, Fivio doubles-down on his own rags-to-riches story: “When I was down, I was broke but I told ’em I knew I’d be rich by the top of the week,” he raps. Though Fivio claims “this is not a movie,” the...
Alanis Morissette has released a new version of her classic single “You Oughta Know,” and it’s a rendition sure to make even Lady Whistledown proud. The singer-songwriter teamed up with Duomo and Kroma Stings for an orchestral take on her seminal hit to coincide with its inclusion on Season 2 of Netflix’s Bridgerton. Dressed in a chic red pantsuit and surrounded by hanging flowers, Morissette sings, “And I’m here to remind you/ Of the mess you left when you went away/ It’s not fair to deny me/ Of the cross I bear that you gave to me/ You, you, you oughta know,” as the strings section swells, interspersed with clips of Jonathan Bailey’s dashing Anthony Bridgerton and newcomer Simone Ashley’s Kate Sharma. An instrumental version of the song is also included on the Season 2 soundtrack of the ...
This year marks the 45th anniversary of Pink Floyd’s Animals and the 17th anniversary of a very special day for an animal named Pink Floyd. Floyd, an African flamingo, escaped from a Kansas zoo in 2005, and was just spotted happy and healthy in the balmy waters of Cox Bay, Texas in the Gulf of Mexico. “Looks like Pink Floyd has returned from the ‘dark side the of moon,’” the Texas Parks and Wildlife Coastal Fisheries posted on Facebook, alongside a video of the avian celebrity strutting his stuff next to some seagulls. This fine feathered Floyd has occasionally been spotted frequenting Texas beaches, and each resurfacing is met with a celebration for the former zoo denizen who refused to be another beak in the wall. According to The New York Times, Pink ...

Cole open D-Day: A Gangsta Grillz Mixtape with “Stick.” Earlier this week, J. Cole surprised Dreamville fans with the news that he teamed up with DJ Drama for a new Gangsta Grillz mixtape. Once Cole dropped the artwork, it was also apparent how seriously they took the project. With the entire Dreamville roster draped in dark clothing and Photoshopped in front of a wa...
Willow Smith has released a heavy new single titled “Purge,” featuring Siiickbrain, along with an accompanying music video. The singer, who just goes by the artist name WILLOW, appeared on Machine Gun Kelly’s single “emo girl” in February. Now, she’s unleashed “Purge,” which builds up to an intense chorus that finds both WILLOW and Siiickbrain singing at the top of their lungs, with the latter even delivering some powerful metalcore screams. The eye-catching video matches the intensity of the song, with WILLOW and Siiickbrain both wearing striking outfits as they bash a car with baseball bats and engage in othe...
As the proverb goes, March comes in like a lion, but out like a lamb. Singer-songwriter Lady Lamb is certainly taking the saying to heart, dropping her new single “Wolves of My Want” just one day after returning with “Ivy,” her first new music since 2020. After opening with sparse instrumentation, “Wolves of My Want” builds up to a beautiful combination of strings and piano as the musician born Aly Spaltro reminisces about childhood and ponders the mysteries of the universe. “Why do you always have me meet you in here/ You tell me like a secret, make me wanna keep it,” she sings. “Ah well yes, of course, I will find you again/ You’re so real to me I could reach out and snatch that apple from your hand.” Advertisement Related Video “Wolves of My Want” and “Ivy” mark Lady Lamb’s first n...

On the hard-hitting “Top Notch,” JT and Yung Miami confidently refute rumors and gossip. The track begins with a previously teased verse from Yung Miami, who tells her haters to “go and check the news.” New York drill rapper Fivio Foreign follows with his guest verse before JT joins in. Singer-songwriter Devin Kennedy helps us navigate the complexities of love in his latest release, “Poetry.” “We live in a world where our expectations of love are created by what we see in movies, TV, and on social media,” he said in a press release. “The ‘honeymoon phase’ and ‘happily ever afters’ get all the screen time, but so rarely do we stop and discuss the hard work and commitment it takes to make a relationship work. That’s what true love is about as far as I’m concerned.” The track, which dropped last week, was followed up with a stripped-down version, which allows Devin’s dreamy vocals and thoughtful lyrics to truly shine. The next time you find yourself at odds with someone you love, put your earbuds in, crank the volume, close your eyes, and let Devin remind you that “the sunsh...
