Rob Zombie has slowly been revealing which characters the actors in his upcoming movie The Munsters will be playing, and the latest unveiling is Elvira’s role. The “Mistress of the Dark” has been cast as Barbara Carr, the top real estate agent in the flick’s fictional town of Mockingbird Heights. Elvira (real name Cassandra Peterson) had been mentioned as part of the original cast announcement, but her role wasn’t known until now. An on-set picture of her as Barbara finds her nearly unrecognizable. Gone is her trademark vampiric look in favor of a suburban real estate agent with a colorful vintage skirt suit and wavy red hair. Zombie posted the reveal on Instagram, writing, “ATTENTION CASTING NEWS! Straight from the set of THE MUNSTERS is your first look at Barbara Carr, the #1 real estate...
Noel Gallagher thinks rock and roll has become a middle class pursuit, telling The Daily Mirror that, “Working class kids can’t afford to do it now.” The longtime Oasis star and current frontman of High Flying Birds tallied up rising costs, noting that “guitars are expensive, there’s no rehearsal rooms. They’ve all been turned into wine bars and flats.” He added, “There’s lots of singer songwriters, loads of middle class bands… wearing guitars as opposed to playing them. But four or five guys from a council estate [public housing] can’t afford guitars.” Advertisement Related Video As for whether there will be another Oasis — or whether rock and roll will continue to be an art form — he sounded unsure if young people even care. “Where are the 14-year-olds in bands now?” he wondere...
Moderat have unveiled their latest single “EASY PREY” and its accompanying music video. Watch the clip below. In the Cyprien Clément-Delmas-directed visual, Sascha Ring’s voice floats over the scene as a jumpstyle dancer whips and contorts to the music in a kind of dystopian technological outpost filled with glowing screens, dark hallways, and giant computer servers. “Drive me to the edge and further/ Yes I know/ Little space to back down/ On your map,” Ring sings, as pads and stuttering synths craft an airy electronic soundscape. “Raised among carnivorans/ Bitter taste/ I am just a low hanging fruit/ Easy prey.” Advertisement Related Video The track is the latest offering from the German supergroup’s forthcoming album MORE D4TA, which is slated to hit streaming services and digital retail...
The producers behind Fortress Festival have launched DeFy Tickets, a new NFT blockchain ticketing platform. Available to United States ticket buyers, DeFy offers digital smart tickets that can be bought and sold as NFTs on the Polygon Blockchain. The platform offers safer and more interactive options for fans to purchase tickets. DeFy’s creators stress that no knowledge of NFTs and blockchain is needed to attend events or buy tickets. In addition to helping to prevent ticket scalping and price gouging, the NFT tickets allow artists to prevent the loss of revenue that occurs via the secondary market. “We believe there is the possibility for technology to create a more fair, transparent, and secure distribution of value to event organizers, artists, and fans,” Fortress co-founder Alec Jhangi...
When hearing a new song for the first time, the mind wanders. When spinning a song from Toronto native Hannah Bussiere Kim, who releases lush and expansive music as Luna Li, for the first time, the mind may wander quite far. Midway through the wonderful “What You’re thinking,” mine found likely unrelated sonic callbacks to, of all things, a Wilco b-side where the fake strings are so thick and syrupy they might as well be cascading down a short stack. Now, Luna Li does not sound like Wilco. “What You’re Thinking” is an addictive bit of R&B-indebted pop, but sonically, it’s not far from indie rock. Similar string sounds and distinct song passages make it a miniature orchestral masterstroke. The mind wanders. And with Luna Li, what it finds is, in...

Lil Durk has unleashed his highly-anticipated The Voice follow-up, 7220, out via Only the Family, Alamo Records and Sony Music. The title of the album makes reference to the Chicago rapper’s grandmother’s address, “the house it all started,” per Durk’s words. Just yesterday, March 10, the rapper amped-up fans for the impending release by sharing a music video for the track “Golden Child” and revealed the project’s tracklist. Spanning 17-tracks, the LP packs in heavy-hitting features from Future, Gunna, Summer Walker and Morgan Wallen. Durk’s collaboration with Wallen “Broadway Girls” was released in October as the lead single for the project. Bobbie Nelson, Willie Nelson’s older sister and an original member of his Family Band, died on Thursday (March 10th) at the age of 91. A quiet, yet steadying, presence on the piano at live shows, Nelson passed away while surrounded by family. “Her elegance, grace, beauty, and talent made this world a better place. She was the first member of Willie’s band, as his pianist and singer,” reads a statement from the Nelson family. “Our hearts are broken and she will be deeply missed. But we are so lucky to have had her in our lives. Please keep her family in your thoughts and give them the privacy they need at this time.” Born on New Year’s Day in 1931, Nelson was two years older than her more famous brother, but he still referred to her as his “Little Sister Bobbie” on stage. They played togeth...
