ARMY can turn a hashtag into a trend, turn a song into a hit. What they can’t do, is holler at BTS’s homecoming shows. The K-pop superstar return to Seoul for a round of triumphant shows this week at Jamsil Olympic Stadium. The novel coronavirus and its variants is still problematic around the globe. So, to combat the spread, strict guidelines are in place for the pop stars’ shows. Yelling and chanting is out, though, mercifully, clapping is not banned, explains a statement shared by BTS’ music company, Big Hit Entertainment. On the flip side, fans are encouraged to “groove while seated,” but it remains unclear just how much grooving is permitted. The Permission to Dance on Stage – Seoul shows are capped at 15,000, with 5% of those seats reserved for “disease prevention personnel.” Explore...

The Kyiv-Classic Symphony Orchestra performed a small concert in Ukraine’s Maidan Square Wednesday (March 9th), an act Conductor Herman Makarenko described as a call for peace amid the Russian invasion. The orchestra performed the Ukrainian national anthem as well as an excerpt from Beethoven’s “Ode to Joy,” on which the European Union’s anthem is based — both strong displays of Ukrainian sovereignty and a desire to move closer to Western Europe as Russian forces advanced on the country. “We would like to support our president, Volodymyr Zelenskiy, who called, calls and will call to all governments of the world (to) stop the war in Ukraine,” Makarenko said (per Reuters). While up to 70 musicians normally perform in the orchestra, Makarenko said he was only able to gather about 20 people fo...
SixTONES’ sixth single “Kyomei” blasts into No. 1 on the Billboard Japan Hot 100, dated March 9, putting an end to Aimer’s seven-week streak at the top of the tally. The six-member Johnny’s boy band scores its sixth No. 1 with this track, which is the opener for the ongoing anime series Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon season 2. “Kyomei” sold 402,093 copies in its first week to rule the metric (though about 100,000 copies short of its previous single, “Mascara”), while also coming in at No. 1 for look-ups and radio airplay. The track also did well on Twitter (No. 4) and came in at No. 53 for video views, so the two physical metrics of the chart’s methodology (sales and look-ups) fueled the song to No. 1 this week. Machine Gun Kelly isn’t standing for any hate on his musical ability. MGK replied to the TikTok, showing that you can rotate the kill switch, so on his guitar, the kill switch is on during his performances. “I only play my guitar live,” he says, imploring DüGrey to actually watch his performances so he “can hear the vibe.” Explore See latest videos, charts and news “You’re wearing a Liquid Death hat, and I’m also a part owner in that company.
